- • Architect the 18-month content roadmap. Translate audience data, TRP trends, and OTT analytics into a slate of dramas, thrillers, romances, and finite series that balance risk-taking storytelling with commercial viability. Present green-light pitches to the network leadership and secure buy-in for multi-crore budgets.
- • Lead, mentor, and inspire a 40-member cross-functional creative pod comprising writers, screenplay editors, dialogue writers, casting directors, set designers, and post-production supervisors. Instill a culture of fearless creativity, psychological safety, and relentless quality—holding daily story huddles, weekly table reads, and monthly innovation sprints.
- • Champion diversity of narratives and voices. Commission writers’ rooms that reflect India’s pluralism—gender, region, class, and ability—ensuring on-screen representation that feels authentic and moves the cultural needle. Review scripts for unconscious bias and partner with sensitivity readers where needed.
- • Own the creative brief for every new season and spin-off. Define the core emotional promise, character arcs, visual grammar, music palette, and marketing hook. Collaborate with the OAP team to lock episode flow, cliff-hangers, and promo beats that maximize appointment viewing and binge potential.
- • Safeguard production excellence. Conduct green-light, pilot, mid-season, and pre-finale reviews; deliver actionable feedback on pacing, performance, and production value. Approve final edits, color grades, and sound mixes, ensuring every episode meets the Colors gold standard.
- • Manage budgets up to INR 150 crore annually. Negotiate talent fees, location costs, VFX packages, and music rights to extract maximum creative ROI. Identify cost-saving innovations—virtual sets, LED volumes, AI-assisted pre-viz—without compromising narrative integrity.
- • Forge symbiotic partnerships with top production houses, A-list talent agencies, and emerging OTT platforms. Structure co-production deals, format licensing agreements, and talent holding contracts that expand Colors’ intellectual property into films, web spin-offs, podcasts, and gaming extensions.
- • Translate marketing insights into story tweaks. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the marketing and social teams to craft teaser campaigns, character reveals, and interactive fan events that turn viewers into evangelists. Monitor social sentiment daily and pivot story tracks in real time when buzz spikes or dips.
- • Institutionalize data-driven creativity. Build dashboards that correlate minute-by-minute viewership with narrative beats, enabling writers to refine cliff-hangers and character introductions. Present quarterly case studies to the board on how creative decisions translated into ratings uplift and ad-revenue growth.
- • Spearhead innovation pilots—short-form vertical dramas, interactive branching narratives, AI-generated storyboards—keeping Colors three steps ahead of global streaming giants. Secure pilot budgets and stage-gate approvals from the investment committee.
- • Foster a learning organization. Curate masterclasses with Oscar-winning showrunners, host writer exchange programs with Korean drama teams, and sponsor an annual writers’ retreat in the hills to incubate next-gen IP. Track individual growth plans and succession pipelines for every key creative role.
🎯 Requirements
- • 12+ years of proven success as a Creative Content Lead, Head of Fiction, or Showrunner in Hindi GEC television and/or OTT platforms, with at least 3 long-running fiction hits to your credit
- • Deep, instinctive understanding of the Hindi-speaking audience across Tier-1 cities, small towns, and diaspora markets; ability to predict shifts in taste before they surface in data
- • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-crore budgets and cross-functional teams of 30+ writers, directors, and producers while hitting TRP, cost-per-hour, and digital viewership KPIs
- • Outstanding storytelling craft—mastery of screenplay structure, character psychology, and episodic cliff-hangers—combined with fluency in production logistics, from pre-viz to final DI
- • Exceptional leadership and communication skills; track record of building inclusive teams where diverse voices thrive and delivering tough creative feedback that elevates the work
