Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Metriport's first Customer Support Engineer, you will serve as the frontline technical lifeline for customers, bridging confusion and feedback to internal teams while owning resolution of technical issues from triage to follow-up.
- • Day to day, you will triage inbound customer issues, reproduce bugs, root cause problems, escalate to engineering when needed, and build automated support infrastructure including ticketing workflows, runbooks, and self-service tooling to deflect repeat issues.
- • You will join a tight-knit, high-performing, engineering-heavy team of mostly former founders (including two YC alumni) at Metriport, an open-source data intelligence platform serving healthcare organizations with real-time patient data access across 300+ million individuals.
- • In this role, you will learn to build scalable support systems from scratch, synthesize customer feedback into actionable product insights, and develop deep expertise in healthcare IT integrations while working with high autonomy and minimal bureaucracy in a sustainable intensity environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years in a technical support, developer support, or software engineering role with direct exposure to customer-facing issue resolution
- • Experience writing and deploying production code, with familiarity in building or consuming APIs and webhooks at scale
- • Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly, triage fast, communicate clearly, and maintain ownership through resolution without letting customers feel blocked
- • Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment in ambiguous, multi-constraint situations, including writing narratives that gain engineering buy-in during escalations
- • Comfort working across teams and technical levels, translating details between technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity
- • Availability for non-traditional hours as needed during scaling phases, aligned with a committed team operating in trenches
- • Low ego, high ownership mindset — preferring to fix root causes over closing tickets
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive equity + compensation package
- • Full family Platinum health insurance, dental, and vision coverage
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
- • Flexible work from home or in-office options
- • Complimentary healthy lunches when in-office (with breakfast and dinners provided as needed)
- • Quarterly company off-sites with the team
- • MacBook provided by the company
- • Unlimited PTO policy trusting employees to take time needed for peak performance
