- • Perform FISH analysis using digitized images and computerized platforms including Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI)
- • Conduct cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via digital imaging systems, with occasional chromosome work
- • Review cytogenetic cases through digital records and test requisitions to extract pertinent clinical details for analysis
- • Summarize test results using ISCN (International System for Human Cytogenomic Nomenclature) standards
- • Differentiate between normal and abnormal cytogenetic findings to ensure accurate diagnostic interpretation
- • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory software and digital equipment to maintain system functionality
- • Make independent technical decisions regarding test interpretation and problem resolution in cytogenetic analysis
- • Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care and clinical decision-making
- • Notify general supervisor of any system malfunctions, procedural issues, or anomalies in a timely manner
- • Collaborate with general supervisor on the development and review of laboratory protocols and policies
- • Provide technical feedback to senior technologists on analysis methods, software use, and workflow improvements
- • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards including CLIA and HIPAA
- • Maintain a secure and compliant remote work environment that meets HIPAA requirements for patient data handling
- • Adhere to CMS requirements by agreeing to have your home address included in case reports for analyzed samples
- • Work a scheduled shift of Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility to accommodate overtime or schedule changes as needed
- • Perform all duties remotely with no wet lab or bench work involved; role is entirely analysis-based using digital platforms
- • Demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication in a fast-paced, multi-site remote environment
- • Pass a standardized color blindness test to ensure accurate interpretation of digital cytogenetic images
- • Maintain proficiency with laboratory information systems and computer systems used for digital cytogenetic analysis
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
- • Minimum 1 year of experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
