📋 Description

• Locate and mark underground utilities, including fiber optic cables, using electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and radar techniques to prevent damage during excavation and construction.
• Analyze blueprints and site plans to determine the precise location of upcoming construction projects and potential utility conflicts.
• Identify and map the depth and alignment of buried utilities with accuracy to ensure network integrity and worker safety.
• Document all site interactions, utility locations, and field observations using organizational software systems.
• Pinpoint utility coordinates using GPS and surveying equipment to maintain precise asset records.
• Communicate directly with clients, engineers, and internal management to coordinate utility marking activities and resolve field issues.
• Proactively identify potential risks to Zayo’s infrastructure and recommend preventive actions to avoid service disruptions.
• Maintain and inspect tools, test sets, network equipment, and company-issued vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
• Manage asset inventory, including replenishment of paint, flags, and other on-site/truck materials, and coordinate shipping and receiving of company and customer materials.
• Perform site inspections of cabinets, buried cables, and outdoor facilities in diverse weather conditions, terrains, and environments exposed to local flora and fauna.
• Operate in both independent and team-based settings, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project deadlines and safety standards.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including personal protective equipment requirements and hazard awareness protocols.
• Maintain eligibility to operate company vehicles, with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds regularly and transport materials clear of job sites.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call schedule, including standby, call-outs, dispatches, overtime, and occasional travel as required by business needs.

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Up to 1 year of relevant experience in field construction tasks
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and maintain eligibility to operate a company vehicle (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
• Proficiency in using computers, cell phones, Microsoft Windows, and Office applications required
• Must have a personal cell phone
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly
