- • As an entry-level Damage Prevention Technician I at Zayo Group Holdings, Inc., you will serve as the first line of defense in protecting critical telecommunications infrastructure by accurately locating and marking underground utilities to prevent damage during excavation and construction.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing blueprints, identifying and mapping utility locations using GPS, magnetic, electrical, and radar techniques, documenting site data in organizational software, maintaining tools and equipment, inspecting construction sites and buried cables in various weather conditions, coordinating material logistics, and communicating with clients, engineers, and management while operating in both individual and team environments.
- • Zayo provides mission-critical bandwidth infrastructure across North America and Europe, serving major enterprises in wireless, media, tech, finance, healthcare, and more; the Damage Prevention Team plays a vital role in safeguarding this extensive network of dark fiber, private data networks, wavelengths, Ethernet, and dedicated Internet access.
- • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in utility locating, asset management, field operations, and safety compliance, with opportunities to develop technical proficiency in locating technologies and advance to more complex assignments as experience grows, all while contributing directly to network integrity and public safety.
