  • • Vultr is at the forefront of revolutionizing cloud infrastructure, making high-performance solutions accessible, affordable, and locally available for enterprises and AI innovators worldwide. With a rapidly expanding global footprint of 32 data center locations, we empower hundreds of thousands of customers across 185 countries with our robust Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, Bare Metal, and Cloud Storage offerings. Our recent equity financing at a $3.5 billion valuation underscores our significant growth and market leadership. Founded by David Aninowsky and sustained through self-funding for over a decade, Vultr has achieved the status of the world's largest privately-held cloud infrastructure company. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, playing a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our state-of-the-art data center facilities.
  • • As a Data Center Technician at Vultr, your day-to-day responsibilities will be centered around ensuring the seamless operation and optimal performance of our critical infrastructure. You will be the first line of defense for incoming data center support requests, requiring a proactive and meticulous approach to problem-solving and maintenance. Your expertise will be crucial in the physical installation and ongoing upkeep of servers and network equipment. This includes the precise rack and stack of servers and switches, meticulous cabling to ensure robust connectivity, and the physical configuration of various devices to meet stringent operational standards.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve responding promptly and effectively to reported issues concerning servers, network devices, and the overall data center infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with facility staff to guarantee that essential services such as power, cooling, and all other facility-provided resources are functioning optimally. This includes coordinating planned maintenance activities, ensuring that any unexpected outages are addressed swiftly, and escalating issues appropriately to minimize downtime and impact.
  • • Your technical skills will be put to the test as you conduct hardware diagnostics to identify failing components and execute timely replacements. You will work in tandem with vendor warranty technicians, ensuring that any warranty-related issues are resolved efficiently and correctly, maintaining the integrity and uptime of our hardware.
  • • Beyond reactive support, you will be empowered to proactively identify potential issues and areas for improvement within the data center environment. Developing and implementing plans to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and prevent future problems will be a key aspect of your contribution. Maintaining an accurate and well-documented spare parts inventory, including setup and ongoing management, is essential for operational readiness.
  • • Collaboration is key at Vultr. You will work closely with our software and network engineering teams, contributing to cybersecurity initiatives and optimizing network efficiency. This cross-functional teamwork ensures a holistic approach to infrastructure management. Furthermore, you will be responsible for upgrading internal system components, which may include CPUs, memory modules, hard drives, and network cables, ensuring our systems remain cutting-edge.
  • • Maintaining comprehensive and detailed documentation of the infrastructure, all work performed, and the physical parts inventory is a critical responsibility. This documentation serves as a vital resource for troubleshooting, planning, and knowledge transfer. You will also be responsible for escalating issues as needed, ensuring that all problems are addressed promptly and resolved to the highest standard, minimizing any potential disruption to our services. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing, innovative company and to make a tangible impact on the performance and reliability of global cloud infrastructure.
