- • Own end-to-end operations of real-time data pipelines that ingest, enrich, filter, and route petabyte-scale data through Pub/Sub, GCP Dataflow, and Vertex AI/Gemini for threat intelligence risk assessment.
- • Operate and harden production streaming infrastructure with 24/7/365 uptime requirements, ensuring message delivery, consumer group integrity, and fault tolerance across Pub/Sub topics.
- • Debug, optimize, and resolve failures in GCP Dataflow streaming and batch jobs, diagnosing performance bottlenecks and shipping fixes without escalation.
- • Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident-response tooling using Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver to detect issues before customers are impacted.
- • Serve as first responder for production incidents, owning the full lifecycle from page to postmortem for systems with zero tolerance for downtime.
- • Integrate LLMs (Vertex AI, Gemini, or equivalent) into data workflows, applying prompt engineering in a production data context to enhance enrichment and classification.
- • Ensure data integrity end to end, guaranteeing accurate and timely delivery of threat intelligence to customers across complex pipeline stages.
- • Partner with Product, Data, and Intelligence Analyst teams to translate business and technical requirements into operational pipeline improvements.
- • Map and document the full data flow from ingestion through enrichment to delivery, identifying system fragility points and proactively mitigating risks.
- • Independently carry on-call responsibilities, resolving common incidents without escalation within 60 days of hire.
- • Ship at least one observability or reliability improvement (new alert, dashboard, or runbook) to the existing stack within 60 days.
- • Identify and fix recurring pipeline pain points, reducing false-positive alerts and improving key SLAs such as latency, uptime, or throughput.
- • Become the primary owner of streaming infrastructure, trusted to operate autonomously by day 90, and serve as the go-to person for Product and Analyst teams on pipeline questions.
- • Document architectural decisions and system hardening measures to reduce future incident resolution time and improve team-wide resilience.
- • Work with terabyte-to-petabyte datasets, maintaining system responsiveness while filtering and processing high-volume, real-time threat data.
🎯 Requirements
- • Hands-on production experience building or operating streaming data pipelines (Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar)
- • Demonstrated ability to debug and optimize GCP Dataflow (or comparable Beam-based stream processing) in production
- • A reliability mindset with fluency in SLAs, observability, on-call, and incident response, and the autonomy to dive into logs, metrics, and traces unaided
- • Proficiency with Python, SQL, and Linux
- • Real experience integrating Vertex AI / Gemini, or strong transferable experience with similar LLM platforms, into data workflows
- • Experience with terabyte-to-petabyte datasets and high-volume data filtering in production
