📋 Description

• • Architect and maintain the lifeblood of our payment-integrity platform by designing resilient, scalable data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, and transform millions of complex healthcare claims, eligibility, and provider records every day. You will own the end-to-end flow—from source extraction in SQL Server and APIs through Spark-based ETL in Databricks to curated data marts that power analytics and machine-learning models.
• • Partner with senior engineers, product managers, and clinical analysts to translate payer and provider business rules into precise technical specifications. You will participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and story estimation while ensuring that every requirement is traceable to measurable waste-reduction and access-improvement outcomes.
• • Write production-grade Python and T-SQL code that is version-controlled in Bitbucket, peer-reviewed, and automatically deployed via CI/CD pipelines. You will champion clean-code principles, enforce unit-test coverage, and refactor legacy scripts to reduce runtime by 30 % and cut cloud-compute costs.
• • Monitor 100+ active pipelines with alerting, logging, and lineage tools; respond to on-call incidents within SLA, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes. You will build self-healing workflows that auto-retry transient failures and surface actionable diagnostics to stakeholders.
• • Curate comprehensive documentation in Confluence—including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, runbooks, and onboarding guides—so that any team member can understand, extend, and troubleshoot your work without tribal knowledge.
• • Create ad-hoc and scheduled reports using SSMS and Databricks SQL to satisfy internal finance, operations, and compliance teams as well as external payer and provider partners. You will automate recurring requests and evangelize self-service dashboards that free engineering cycles for innovation.
• • Collaborate with application developers to align data model changes with micro-service releases, ensuring zero-downtime migrations and backward compatibility. You will participate in design reviews, propose indexing strategies, and validate performance under peak load.
• • Uphold HIPAA and HITRUST data-privacy standards by implementing column-level encryption, role-based access controls, and audit logging. You will conduct quarterly security assessments and remediate findings before they reach production.
• • Contribute to the Data Engineering guild by sharing best practices, leading lunch-and-learns, and mentoring junior analysts. You will pilot emerging technologies—Delta Live Tables, serverless Spark, dbt—and quantify ROI before enterprise adoption.
• • Drive continuous improvement by instrumenting pipeline telemetry, measuring cost per claim processed, and proposing optimizations that reduce waste and improve healthcare access for millions of patients nationwide.
