📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and efficient data processing systems with a strong emphasis on code quality and performance.
• Collaborate closely with data analysts, software developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and architect robust solutions.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for seamless extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources into the Data-bricks-based data warehouse.
• Spearhead the development and maintenance of real-time data processing systems using Spark Streaming and Kafka.
• Establish and enforce rigorous data quality and validation checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of data assets.
• Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex data processing issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams for timely resolution.
• Proactively monitor and optimize data processing systems to maintain peak performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging advanced AWS operational knowledge.
• Utilize AWS services including EC2, S3, Glue, and Data-bricks to architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based data processing infrastructure.
• Implement robust security measures and access controls to safeguard sensitive data assets within the AWS environment.
• Stay current with advancements in AWS technologies and best practices, integrating new tools and services to enhance data processing capabilities.
• Apply deep expertise in Apache Spark for ETL processing, optimization, and large-scale data transformation.
• Use BI tools such as Metabase for data visualization and analysis to support business intelligence needs.
• Apply advanced knowledge of data modeling, data quality, and data governance best practices across all data systems.
• Automate infrastructure and workflows using DevOps tools such as Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Maintain proficiency in one or more programming languages including Scala, Java, or Python for data engineering tasks.
• Ensure all systems comply with regulatory and security standards aligned with Coins.ph’s status as a BSP-regulated entity.
• Communicate effectively in English to document processes, report issues, and collaborate with global and local teams.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
• Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, S3, Glue, and Data-bricks, with experience in infrastructure deployment and optimization
• Deep expertise in Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, and Delta Lake
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python, and experience with Dagster or similar data job schedulers
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance best practices
