• • Join Necsws Business Consultant as an experienced Data Migration Consultant, a pivotal role within our dedicated Local Government data migration team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the successful transition of data for our Local Government clients, ensuring seamless integration into the NEC revenues and benefits system.
• • Your primary focus will be on migrating new customers from disparate third-party revenues and benefits systems into our core NEC platform. This involves understanding the complexities of various legacy systems and architecting robust solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• • Furthermore, you will be instrumental in managing data merges for existing NEC customers who are undergoing structural changes, such as consolidating into Unitary authorities. This requires a nuanced approach to data integration, ensuring consistency and accuracy across merged datasets.
• • As a hands-on Consultant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of migration tasks. This includes the initial design and development of migration strategies, the meticulous creation and maintenance of ETL processes, and the precise execution of these processes to guarantee data is transferred accurately, securely, and efficiently into the target NEC environment.
• • A core aspect of your role will involve in-depth data profiling. You will analyze data structures within legacy systems, identify potential inconsistencies or quality issues, and perform data modelling where necessary to facilitate a smooth migration. This requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of data relationships.
• • Leveraging your strong SQL expertise, particularly with Oracle, you will design, write, and optimize PL/SQL and SQL solutions. These scripts will be the backbone of our ETL processes, ensuring efficient data manipulation and transformation.
• • You will be a champion for data quality. Applying a robust data quality framework is paramount. This means implementing rigorous checks and reconciliation processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and overall quality of the migrated data. You will be responsible for defining and executing these quality assurance measures.
• • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with other migration team consultants and our specialized revenues and benefits consultants. This cross-functional teamwork ensures that the migration solutions align with both technical requirements and business objectives, maintaining the highest standards of quality, integrity, accuracy, and efficiency.
• • Engaging directly with end users is a critical component of this position. You will interact with clients to understand their specific needs, address any concerns they may have regarding the migration or merge process, and provide clear, concise feedback on progress and any issues encountered.
• • Following each test migration, you will be responsible for providing solutions and detailed feedback on any migration issues raised by the customer. This proactive approach to problem-solving is essential for building client trust and ensuring a successful migration.
• • Documentation is a vital part of the migration process. You will be expected to produce clear, comprehensive documentation for all migration processes, including detailed data mappings, data quality checks, and any custom scripts or procedures developed. This ensures knowledge transfer and maintainability of the solutions.
