- • Serve as the primary expert on Kong’s product offerings, pricing models, and packaging options to provide accurate, strategic quoting support to the sales team.
- • Partner directly with sales representatives to design commercial solutions that meet customer needs while preserving Kong’s deal economics and revenue integrity.
- • Engage directly with enterprise customers and sales teams to align on deal structure, commercial terms, and contract language when necessary.
- • Own the end-to-end deal process from initial structure through contract execution, minimizing cycle time while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- • Manage complex, non-standard, and multi-product deal requests by coordinating across legal, finance, product, and pricing teams to achieve alignment and timely closure.
- • Structure sophisticated commercial arrangements including multi-year subscriptions, consumption-based pricing, and hybrid models with clear revenue recognition pathways.
- • Act as the central connector between sales, legal, finance, and product teams, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of commercial policies across all deals.
- • Lead deal reviews and early-stage checkpoints to proactively identify and resolve potential blockers before they delay revenue recognition or contract signing.
- • Champion and enforce standardized deal processes and business practices to improve consistency, reduce risk, and increase sales efficiency across global regions.
- • Analyze discounting trends, deal metrics, and pipeline patterns to provide actionable insights to leadership on commercial consistency and deal quality.
- • Recommend and drive process improvements, policy updates, and system enhancements based on recurring deal patterns and operational bottlenecks.
- • Maintain deep familiarity with subscription, consumption-based, and hybrid pricing architectures and their impact on deal structuring and financial reporting.
- • Balance speed and rigor in deal execution—moving deals forward efficiently without compromising on compliance, risk mitigation, or long-term revenue health.
- • Communicate clearly and persuasively with sales, legal, finance, and executive stakeholders, holding ground on commercial principles while building consensus across functions.
- • Demonstrate strong commercial instincts by quickly identifying problematic deal structures and proposing viable alternatives that preserve both customer relationships and company value.
- • Manage multiple complex deals simultaneously across varying stages of negotiation, maintaining meticulous organization and prioritization under ambiguity.
- • Translate operational feedback from sales and legal teams into scalable process improvements that enhance deal velocity and reduce manual overhead.
- • Support leadership with data-driven reporting on discounting levels, deal velocity, and commercial trends to inform pricing strategy and sales enablement.
- • Ensure all deal documentation adheres to internal policies and external legal requirements, reducing exposure to revenue leakage or contractual risk.
