- • Lead end-to-end execution of bankruptcy workflows (Ch. 7, 11, 13) for chattel loan accounts, including filings, claims management, timeline adherence, and resolution.
- • Manage replevin and legal recovery processes from referral through judgment, asset repossession, and final disposition, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- • Oversee day-to-day performance of legal vendors and attorneys, enforcing clear SLAs, accountability metrics, and operational standards.
- • Drive measurable reductions in cycle time from default to legal resolution across bankruptcy and replevin pipelines.
- • Maximize net recovery outcomes while controlling and optimizing legal expenses and vendor costs.
- • Design, document, and refine scalable workflows, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to institutionalize best practices.
- • Maintain real-time visibility into the legal pipeline, identifying stalled cases, prioritizing escalations, and reporting on key performance indicators.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Collections, Customer Experience, and Asset Management teams to ensure seamless progression of delinquent accounts through legal channels.
- • Identify systemic bottlenecks in default and legal recovery processes and implement rapid, data-driven solutions to improve throughput and reduce backlogs.
- • Deliver predictable, clean operational workflows with minimal unresolved cases and high accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- • Monitor and analyze recovery rates, loss severity metrics, and vendor performance to inform strategic improvements and budgeting decisions.
- • Ensure all legal actions align with UCC Article 9 provisions and federal/state bankruptcy regulations.
- • Act as the primary operational owner for all bankruptcy and replevin activities within the chattel loan portfolio, with no handoffs to third parties.
- • Maintain rigorous documentation of all legal proceedings and vendor interactions to support audit readiness and internal compliance.
- • Report directly to leadership on portfolio health, process efficiency, and recovery performance with actionable insights and data-backed recommendations.
- • Adapt quickly to evolving legal requirements, regulatory changes, and internal business priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years in default servicing with direct ownership of bankruptcy and legal recovery processes
- • Strong working knowledge of bankruptcy procedures and UCC Article 9 (replevin)
- • Experience managing attorneys and legal vendors with a focus on performance and efficiency
- • Proven track record of improving timelines, recoveries, and operational execution
- • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment
- • Data-driven mindset with the ability to manage a pipeline, not just individual cases
