- • As a Deployed Engineer at LangChain, you will be at the forefront of applied AI engineering, working directly with enterprise customers to transform AI agent prototypes into reliable, production-grade systems that power real-world business operations. Your role is critical in bridging cutting-edge research with practical implementation, ensuring that LangChain’s platform delivers tangible value to teams building intelligent agents at scale.
- • You will partner closely with customer engineering teams throughout the full lifecycle of AI agent adoption—from initial technical evaluations and proof-of-concepts to post-deployment optimization and long-term operational guidance—acting as a trusted technical advisor who helps shape architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive successful outcomes in high-stakes environments.
- • The Deployed Engineering team operates at the unique intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market, serving as a vital feedback loop that surfaces real-world customer insights to inform platform improvements, while also enabling customers to achieve technical wins using LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Agent Builder.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include co-architecting and co-building production AI agents with customer teams, designing and executing technical proof-of-concepts during pre-sales engagements, advising on architecture and best practices for deploying conversational agents, research agents, and multi-step workflows, and leading technical trainings, workshops, and demos for developer audiences.
- • You will own the technical win in customer engagements by not only recommending solutions but taking responsibility for their successful implementation, including contributing code upstream when it meaningfully improves customer outcomes, and synthesizing field feedback into reusable patterns, cookbooks, and example code that benefit the broader LangChain ecosystem.
- • This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, customer-facing communication skills, and a bias for action—you will be expected to navigate ambiguous problems, make sound technical tradeoffs, and build trust with developer audiences through clarity, competence, and a commitment to outcomes over mere recommendations.

🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years in a relevant technical role such as software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or founding/product engineering, preferably in a startup or scale-up environment
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, along with solid systems fundamentals
- • Proven experience designing and building agent-based or LLM-powered applications beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration mechanisms, and failure handling strategies
- • Comfort and effectiveness in working directly with customers during proof-of-concepts, architecture reviews, and technical evaluations
- • Ability to clearly explain technical tradeoffs and build trust with developer audiences through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving
- • A bias toward action, ownership mindset, and enthusiasm for figuring things out in ambiguous, fast-moving situations
