- • As a Deployed Engineer at LangChain, you will work directly with enterprise customers to transform AI agent prototypes into reliable, production-grade systems, directly impacting how intelligent agents are adopted and operated at scale across industries.
- • You will serve as a technical bridge between LangChain’s platform and real-world customer needs, ensuring that AI solutions are not only innovative but also robust, maintainable, and aligned with business outcomes.
- • Day to day, you will co-architect and co-build production AI agents alongside customer engineering teams, designing end-to-end systems that handle complex workflows, orchestration, and failure recovery beyond simple LLM API calls.
- • You will own the technical win in pre-sales engagements by crafting compelling proof-of-concepts, answering deep technical questions about agent behavior, latency, and scalability, and guiding customers through rigorous evaluation processes.
- • Post-deployment, you will advise customers on operational best practices, architecture refinements, and roadmap decisions to ensure long-term reliability and performance of their agent-based applications in production environments.
- • You will regularly run technical demos, hands-on workshops, and training sessions for developer audiences, translating complex agent concepts into accessible, actionable knowledge that accelerates adoption.
- • By working closely with diverse customers, you will surface field feedback and distill it into reusable patterns, cookbooks, example code, and best practices that are contributed back to LangChain’s open-source ecosystem and platform.
- • When impactful, you will contribute code directly to LangChain’s core libraries (such as LangGraph or LangSmith) to improve tooling, fix gaps, or enhance capabilities based on real-world production challenges.
- • You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to feed customer insights into product strategy, helping shape the future direction of LangChain’s agent engineering platform.
- • Operating in a fast-moving, high-impact startup environment, you will enjoy significant autonomy and ownership, with your work directly influencing how AI agents are built, deployed, and trusted by teams at companies like Replit, Coinbase, Workday, and Fortune 500 enterprises.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in a relevant technical role such as software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or founding/product engineering, preferably in a startup or scale-up environment.
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with solid systems fundamentals including understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and performance optimization.
- • Proven experience designing and building agent-based or LLM-powered applications that go beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration logic, retry mechanisms, and failure handling.
- • Comfort and effectiveness in working directly with customers during technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concept phases, with the ability to build trust and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- • A bias toward action, ownership mindset, and willingness to figure things out independently in ambiguous, fast-paced situations.
