  • • The Dermatology Senior Health and Science Specialist at Pfizer Inc. is a critical field-based role responsible for driving product adoption, building strategic relationships with healthcare providers, and supporting patient access to innovative dermatology therapies within the Columbia, SC territory. This position directly contributes to Pfizer’s mission of delivering safe and effective treatments by translating scientific knowledge into real-world clinical impact through compliant, data-informed engagement strategies.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing tailored virtual and in-person engagement plans with healthcare providers (HCPs), utilizing approved digital tools such as Veeva Engage, Zoom, and Microsoft Office to deliver targeted product messaging that influences prescribing behavior. The specialist leverages analytics and call reporting software to derive insights, optimize territory call plans, and identify next-best actions based on HCP needs and market dynamics.
  • • The role involves educating HCPs on both branded and unbranded product value propositions using clinically oriented disease state information, ensuring compliance with promotional guidelines while addressing unmet patient needs in dermatology. Specialists also support patient access by providing information on reimbursement pathways, Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), co-pay resources, and Pfizer Hub programs.
  • • Collaboration is central to success: the specialist works closely with cross-functional teams including Field Medical, Reimbursement, Key Account Management, and Pfizer Connect to align on customer insights, resolve inquiries via triaging protocols and digital apps, and ensure seamless delivery of approved resources such as samples, vouchers, and patient education materials.
  • • The position requires strategic planning and self-direction, including effective use of calendaring tools, leadership goals, and personal insights to prioritize customer engagements across virtual and in-person formats. Specialists are expected to bring frontline insights from HCP interactions and surveys back to leadership to improve engagement models and drive continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s Degree required; alternatively, an associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/promotional/sales experience, or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • • Minimum 3 years of prior pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/promotional/sales experience, including demonstrated success in territory management, leadership, and performance in a specialized market with third-party reimbursement and service center utilization.
  • • Valid US driver’s license with a driving record compliant with company standards; no DUI/DWI or impaired driving citations within the past 7 years.
  • • Must reside within 50 miles of the assigned territory (Columbia, Greenville, SC area).
  • • Strong knowledge of dermatology disease states, therapeutic areas, and Pfizer products; ability to educate HCPs on value propositions using approved clinically oriented information.
  • • Proficiency with digital engagement tools (e.g., Veeva Engage, Zoom, Microsoft Office) and ability to adapt quickly to new/beta platforms such as digital triage apps for virtual customer interactions.
