• • Own the reliability, scalability, and security of Versana’s real-time syndicated-loan data platform that processes millions of loan-level events daily for the world’s largest banks and asset managers.
• • Architect and maintain Azure-native infrastructure (VNet, AKS, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Front Door, API Management) using Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, ensuring every change is peer-reviewed, version-controlled, and reproducible.
• • Design and operate Kubernetes clusters that scale from 10 to 1,000 pods in minutes, leveraging Helm charts, Kustomize, and GitOps workflows (Argo CD) to deliver zero-downtime releases multiple times per day.
• • Build and harden CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions that compile Java/Gradle, Node/NPM, and Python services, run 5,000+ automated tests, security scans (Snyk, Trivy), and deploy to production in under 15 minutes.
• • Implement comprehensive observability: configure Prometheus & Grafana dashboards, set SLOs/SLIs, create Datadog synthetic tests, and tune log aggregation with the ELK stack so the team detects and resolves issues before clients notice.
• • Champion DevSecOps culture by embedding security scanning, secrets management, and policy-as-code (OPA Gatekeeper) into every build, reducing vulnerability mean-time-to-remediation by 40%.
• • Optimize cloud spend through automated rightsizing, reserved-capacity planning, and spot-instance strategies, saving the company six figures annually while maintaining sub-second API latency.
• • Automate disaster-recovery playbooks with Azure Site Recovery and Velero backups; run quarterly game-day exercises to prove <30-minute RTO and <5-minute RPO for critical trading data.
• • Partner with software engineers during design reviews to ensure new microservices are “12-factor” compliant, stateless, and horizontally scalable, cutting onboarding time for new features from weeks to days.
• • Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation (one weekend every 6–8 weeks) and lead blameless post-mortems that transform incidents into actionable backlog items.
• • Streamline developer experience by creating self-service portals (Backstage) and golden-path templates that let any engineer provision a fully monitored service in under 10 minutes.
• • Integrate event-driven architecture using Kafka and Azure Event Hubs to guarantee exactly-once processing of loan updates, enabling real-time position reconciliation across 200+ market participants.
• • Continuously evaluate emerging tools—e.g., OpenTelemetry, eBPF, Dapr—and run proof-of-concepts that keep Versana at the cutting edge of cloud-native technology.
• • Mentor junior engineers through pair-programming and brown-bag sessions, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and relentless improvement.
