- • Engineer, install, maintain, configure, and optimize server operating systems (Windows and Linux) and hosted applications within an AWS cloud environment.
- • Design, develop, test, and manage DevSecOps processes and tools to enhance security and automation across cloud-based applications.
- • Build and enhance Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and configuration management.
- • Implement industry-standard security measures and DHS-mandated mitigations to safeguard government systems in a 24/7/365 operational environment.
- • Distribute security patches using enterprise tools such as AWS Systems Manager Agent (SSM Agent) and Yum server.
- • Deliver RMF documentation to support system accreditation and compliance efforts.
- • Configure and customize automation tools to enable scalable and secure cloud operations.
- • Perform container management and support migration of applications from on-prem infrastructure to AWS.
- • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to application teams on DevSecOps adoption and secure cloud best practices.
- • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and resolve high-severity technical escalations.
- • Design and implement appropriate environments for applications, including release management procedures and production support.
- • Collaborate with Cloud Solutions Engineers to develop prototypes and enhance PaaS, containerized, and serverless workloads.
- • Attend daily stand-up meetings to report accomplishments, daily plans, and roadblocks.
- • Prepare for and participate in Change Management, Technical Review Board, and Change Control Board processes.
- • Document all work, updates, and procedures in ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence.
- • Contribute to Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.
- • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with junior team members to foster team growth and DevSecOps proficiency.
- • Ensure compliance with current security policies and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- • Support the total software development lifecycle through automation, testing, and deployment activities.
- • Perform analysis for network and system needs, and participate in planning, designing, upgrading, and deploying enterprise datacenter hardware and software using project-based timelines.
- • Utilize scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and JavaScript to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- • Maintain familiarity with Cybersecurity RMF Controls Validation Testing and apply findings to system hardening.
- • Work within a federal government contract environment supporting the Department of Homeland Security.
🎯 Requirements
- • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
- • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent + 7 years of applicable experience
- • At least one Amazon AWS cloud certification
- • Previous Amazon AWS cloud support experience in a production environment including network, security, deployment, and automation
- • Previous DevSecOps experience and with DevSecOps tools
