Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Spektrum is seeking a Digital Support Specialist to join our remote-first team and become the backbone of NATO Allied Command Transformation’s digital ecosystem. In this role you will own the day-to-day health, performance, and continuous improvement of the Capability Development Management Support (CDMS) programme’s collaboration platforms, knowledge repositories, and secure communication channels that connect 30 Allied nations, strategic partners, and Tier 1 defence suppliers.
  • • You will serve as the first-line responder for more than 500 military officers, policy analysts, and industry specialists who rely on Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, Power BI, and NATO’s classified networks to co-create the next generation of Alliance capabilities. Your troubleshooting, optimisation, and training interventions will directly accelerate the delivery of concepts such as Multi-Domain Operations, Joint All-Domain Command & Control (JADC2), and Autonomous Systems Integration.
  • • Own the full lifecycle of digital incidents and service requests: triage, diagnose, escalate, and resolve issues within NATO’s strict security and classification guidelines. You will maintain a 95 % first-contact resolution rate for Tier-1 tickets and ensure that any escalation to Tier-2 engineering or national IT security authorities is accompanied by crystal-clear documentation and evidence packages.
  • • Design, configure, and continuously refine SharePoint site architecture, metadata schemas, and Power Automate workflows that allow cross-functional project teams to surface the right requirements documents, lessons-learned reports, and capability briefs in seconds rather than hours. Your governance model will balance openness with NATO’s need-to-know principle and will be fully compliant with STANAG 4774/4778 and the EU’s NIS2 Directive.
  • • Deliver just-in-time enablement to a globally distributed workforce through live virtual clinics, self-paced video modules, and multilingual quick-reference guides. You will measure adoption via Microsoft Viva Insights and iterate content monthly to keep pace with evolving tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • • Partner with Capability Requirements Branch leads to translate complex capability gaps into user stories for the development of custom Power Apps and low-code solutions that automate status reporting, risk scoring, and stakeholder notifications. Your solutions will shave days off each Capability Requirements Brief production cycle.
  • • Maintain an authoritative configuration management database (CMDB) that maps every digital asset—licences, data connectors, security groups, and third-party SaaS tools—to the corresponding NATO capability life-cycle phase. This living artefact will be the single source of truth for audits, budget forecasting, and disaster-recovery planning.
  • • Champion a culture of cyber-hygiene by scheduling quarterly phishing simulations, enforcing conditional-access policies, and producing executive dashboards that visualise compliance posture across ACT and its partner organisations. Your proactive stance will reduce security incidents by at least 30 % year-over-year.
  • • Coordinate with national IT security officers (NITSOs) from Allied nations to streamline certificate renewals, cross-domain data transfers, and secure mobile-device management. Your diplomatic communication style will turn potential bureaucratic roadblocks into collaborative wins.
  • • Capture, synthesise, and share lessons learned after every major exercise or capability experiment. Your after-action reviews will feed directly into ACT’s Continuous Improvement Framework and will be cited in NATO’s annual Transformation Report to the North Atlantic Council.
  • • Participate in sprint retrospectives and roadmap planning sessions with Spektrum’s wider Digital Enablement Practice, ensuring that innovations piloted for ACT are scalable to other clients such as the UN Department of Peace Operations and the European Defence Agency.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Platform) in an enterprise or government environment with at least 300 users.
  • • Active NATO or EU Secret (or higher) security clearance, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of offer.
  • • Demonstrated success designing low-code/no-code automation workflows (Power Automate, Power Apps) that integrate with REST APIs and SQL back-ends.
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a strong plus.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent military training plus 3+ years of relevant experience.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote, asynchronous-first culture with quarterly in-person summits in Allied capitals (travel covered).
  • • 25 days annual leave plus 12 NATO-designated holidays and a discretionary Christmas stand-down week.
  • • Annual professional-development stipend of €3,500 for certifications, conferences, or language courses.
  • • Comprehensive private medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and eligible dependents, including global emergency evacuation coverage.
