đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end health, performance, and scalability of AES’s global VMware Horizon View virtual desktop infrastructure, serving 25 million customers and thousands of employees across four continents. You are the single point of accountability for VDI uptime, user-experience metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- • Architect, deploy, and tune VMware Horizon View pods, Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, and vCenter integrations to guarantee sub-second logins, consistent 60 fps graphics, and 99.9 % availability—even during peak generation-plant shift changes.
- • Master and extend FSLogix profile containers and Office 365 containers to slash login times, reduce storage costs, and enable seamless roaming between on-prem and Azure-based desktops. You will right-size VHDX files, configure redirections, and implement cloud cache for disaster recovery.
- • Design App Volumes app-stacks and writable volumes that deliver mission-critical SCADA viewers, engineering CAD suites, and real-time trading platforms to any endpoint without local installs, ensuring version control and instant rollback capabilities.
- • Automate every repeatable task with PowerShell, vRealize Orchestrator, and REST APIs— from golden-image patching to RDS farm scaling—so the team can focus on innovation instead of firefighting. Your scripts will integrate with ServiceNow to provide true self-service for end users.
- • Partner with global cybersecurity and OT teams to harden virtual desktops against NERC-CIP, ISO 27001, and AES Zero-Trust standards. You will lead vulnerability scans, remediate CVEs, and enforce conditional-access policies tied to Entra ID and Duo MFA.
- • Create and maintain living technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams in Confluence. You will mentor junior engineers and conduct quarterly knowledge-sharing sessions that elevate the entire Digital Workplace Experience organization.
- • Evaluate emerging technologies—such as VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure, AVD, or GPU-accelerated VDI—to future-proof AES’s digital workplace strategy. You will own the business case, pilot, and cost-benefit analysis for any new platform.
- • Provide third-tier support for escalated incidents, leveraging Splunk, vRealize Log Insight, and SysTrack to perform root-cause analysis and prevent recurrence. You will also participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 operations.
- • Collaborate with procurement and finance to forecast license, compute, and storage needs, ensuring budget accuracy and optimal TCO. You will negotiate with VMware, NVIDIA, and Dell to secure enterprise agreements that scale with AES’s renewable-energy growth.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the technology organization by participating in AES’s employee resource groups and mentoring programs, ensuring every voice is heard and valued.
