As the Director of Account Management, you will be instrumental in shaping this new chapter, serving as the lead architect of our customer retention and expansion strategies.
- • **Drive the Humans + AI Mandate:** Reporting directly to the VP of Revenue, your primary mission is to lead the strategy for our existing customer base, which has a strong affinity for our current offerings. While our current approach is entirely human-driven, your mandate is to strategically integrate AI automation to augment our team's capabilities. This involves identifying and implementing AI solutions that reduce repetitive, administrative tasks, allowing our Account Managers to focus on cultivating high-value, human relationships and strategic customer engagement.
- • **Lead and Develop Your Team:** You will manage a team of two dedicated managers overseeing our Account Management and Renewal squads. Your leadership will be crucial in coaching them to transition from reactive order-takers to proactive growth owners. This involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of customer needs and opportunities for expansion.
- • **Modernize the Customer Engagement Motion:** A key responsibility will be to build the foundational version of our AI-augmented expansion playbook. This entails identifying opportunities to leverage AI for enhanced customer health monitoring, automating routine renewal processes, and developing predictive signals for cross-selling new products. The goal is to create a more efficient, scalable, and data-driven approach to customer engagement.
- • **Design the Multi-Product Expansion Strategy:** With the introduction of new products like Protect and Backup, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for cross-selling these offerings into our established base of thousands of IT professionals. This requires a deep understanding of our product suite and the ability to articulate value propositions tailored to different customer segments.
- • **Operationalize Scalable Excellence:** You will be tasked with building and refining the operational structures necessary to support significant growth. This includes developing scalable processes for both enterprise account planning and streamlined SMB motions, ensuring that our operations can efficiently support a business targeting $100M+ in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
- • **Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Effective collaboration is paramount. You will partner closely with the Product and Revenue Operations (RevOps) teams to ensure a tight feedback loop. This collaboration will be vital for reducing customer churn, identifying new opportunities for increasing customer lifetime value (wallet share), and aligning product development with market needs.
- • **Address the Renewal and Expansion Challenge:** The core challenge lies in evolving our customer engagement from simply handling renewals to actively expanding partnerships. Simultaneously, you will guide the transition from a purely manual workflow to one significantly enhanced by AI and automation. You will play a pivotal role in determining how we can maximize both business outcomes and team potential by embracing cutting-edge technology.
- • **Champion Customer Success:** Ultimately, your role is to ensure our customers continue to derive maximum value from ShareGate and our expanding platform. This involves proactive engagement, strategic guidance, and a commitment to building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships that drive both customer loyalty and business growth.
- • **Contribute to a Generational Tech Company:** As part of a collaborative, high-performing GTM leadership team, you will contribute to building a significant Canadian technology company. Your strategic vision and execution will be key to ShareGate's continued success and expansion in the Microsoft ecosystem.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS, with a preference for experience supporting the IT/Technical persona.
- • 3+ years of experience managing managers, demonstrating the ability to scale leadership through others.
- • Proven ability to envision and implement AI and automation within Go-To-Market (GTM) functions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- • Experience operating within or contributing to the growth of a $100M+ ARR environment.
- • A direct and execution-oriented leadership style, with a commitment to staying close to the business to ensure disciplined execution and success.
