📋 Description
- • The Director, Actuarial – UL Valuation leads the valuation and financial reporting of Universal Life product lines, ensuring accurate Stat, GAAP, and Tax reserves and supporting the company’s mission to protect millions of lives.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing quarterly valuation and earnings analysis, managing model governance and SOX controls, providing leadership to actuarial students and team members, and partnering with Finance, ALM Actuarial, Risk, and other internal teams.
- • The role is part of Protective Life Corporation, a company dedicated to helping customers navigate life’s uncertainties through reliable insurance and financial protection solutions.
- • The position offers opportunities to lead process and model enhancements, develop technical and leadership expertise in actuarial valuation, and gain exposure to cross-functional initiatives in risk, finance, and product development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Credentialed actuary (ASA, FSA, or equivalent) with a strong background in actuarial science
- • Experience in life insurance valuation, pricing, or actuarial rotational programs
- • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment
