  • • As the Director of AP French Language and Culture at College Board, you will lead the development, management, and delivery of the AP French Language and Culture course and exam, ensuring alignment with higher education standards and advancing the program’s strategic growth globally.
  • • Day to day, you will lead assessment development and scoring (45-75% of time), including authoring and revising exam content, facilitating Test Development Committee meetings, training subject-matter experts, overseeing the AP Reading scoring event, and ensuring assessment validity, reliability, and fairness through psychometric collaboration and AI-assisted tools.
  • • You will contribute to curriculum and instruction (up to 30%) by refining the Course Framework, developing instructional resources, and collaborating on new product prototypes to meet teacher needs and expand student access.
  • • You will engage in outreach and constituent engagement (up to 20%) by representing AP French Language and Culture to educators and higher education institutions, recruiting committee members, supporting professional learning, and driving teacher satisfaction through presentations, community engagement, and faculty colloquia.
  • • The AP Curriculum and Assessment Team (90+ staff) supports 40+ AP courses, with the English, World Languages, and Arts department (28 people) managing 14 courses including French Language and Culture; College Board leverages AI to enhance assessment design, expand access, and strengthen instructional support for educators worldwide.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in world language assessment, lead high-stakes test development processes, influence college readiness initiatives, and shape the future of AP French Language and Culture through innovation, collaboration, and mission-driven impact.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Master’s degree in French Language or a directly related discipline
  • • Native to near-native fluency in French
  • • Experience in standardized assessment development
  • • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • • Excellent organizational and planning skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to project schedules
  • • Meticulous attention to detail, including proofreading proficiency
  • • Adaptability to new circumstances and approaches
  • • Technical acumen with Microsoft Office and browser-based tools
  • • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI-driven solutions and comfort learning new digital tools independently
  • • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer
  • • Willingness to travel up to 6 times domestically per year, plus 2 weeks in late May/June for the annual AP Reading
