Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • As the Director of Automation and Process Optimization at Abacus Group LLC, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our enterprise-wide strategy for automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This pivotal leadership role is designed for a visionary individual who excels at identifying and prioritizing high-impact automation opportunities, ensuring that our DevOps delivery aligns seamlessly with critical business objectives, and ultimately guaranteeing the realization of measurable value across the organization.
  • • Your primary focus will be on the strategic 'what' and 'why' of automation, acting as the crucial conduit between senior business leaders and the engineering teams responsible for execution. You will not be involved in hands-on implementation but will guide and direct the efforts to achieve transformative results.
  • • You will own the comprehensive enterprise automation and process optimization strategy and its associated roadmap, ensuring it is robust, forward-thinking, and aligned with the company's long-term goals. This involves a deep understanding of current processes, emerging technologies, and future business needs.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be to partner closely with business leaders across various departments. Through collaborative discovery and analysis, you will identify operational inefficiencies, quantify the potential business value of automation, and build compelling business cases for investment.
  • • You will provide strong leadership, clear direction, and unwavering accountability for the DevOps team. This includes ensuring that their capacity is strategically allocated to the highest-value initiatives, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to establishing clear priorities that artfully balance the demand for new automation solutions with the imperative to maintain platform stability, robust security, and unwavering reliability. This requires a nuanced understanding of technical trade-offs and risk management.
  • • You will be responsible for defining, tracking, and reporting on key success metrics for all automation initiatives. This includes measuring efficiency gains, monitoring user adoption rates, and quantifying the overall realized business value, providing clear visibility into the impact of your strategic direction.
  • • You will serve as a proactive champion for an 'automation-first' and 'AI-assisted' mindset throughout the organization. This involves evangelizing the benefits of these approaches, encouraging their adoption, and fostering a culture that embraces technological advancement to drive operational excellence.
  • • To ensure the successful integration and widespread adoption of automation solutions, you will coordinate closely with training teams. This collaboration will guarantee that end-users are adequately equipped and supported, maximizing the return on our automation investments.
  • • You will leverage your expertise to analyze operational data, including ITSM, service desk metrics, and workflow performance data, to pinpoint areas with the greatest potential for improvement and significant business impact.
  • • Your ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, concise, and persuasive business value narratives will be essential for gaining stakeholder buy-in and securing necessary resources.
  • • You will demonstrate a strategic thinking approach, consistently focusing on long-term impact rather than getting bogged down in tactical execution. Your decisions will be outcome-driven, prioritizing work based on measurable value and tangible results.
  • • As an influential communicator, you will build trust and foster alignment among both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding and commitment to the automation strategy.
  • • You will exhibit decisiveness and pragmatism, skillfully balancing speed, risk, and stability when making prioritization decisions, ensuring that progress is made efficiently and responsibly.
  • • Finally, you will act as a change leader, actively driving adoption and cultural shifts towards embracing automation-first and AI-assisted ways of working, positioning Abacus Group LLC at the forefront of technological innovation in its industry.
