- • As Director of Business Development for Evotec’s East Coast territory, you will drive new business growth and expand existing client relationships for Drug Discovery and Pre-Clinical Development services, playing a pivotal role in positioning Evotec as the preferred partner for pharmaceutical and biotech companies seeking outsourced R&D solutions.
- • You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and lead qualification to contract negotiation and closure—while ensuring seamless handoff to project management and maintaining high client satisfaction through strategic, solution-oriented engagement.
- • You will collaborate closely with Operations, Proposals, and Marketing teams to develop tailored service offerings that align with client R&D priorities, leveraging market insights to inform commercial strategy and pipeline planning.
- • Day-to-day, you will spend 40–50% of your time client-facing, conducting capability presentations, needs-assessment meetings, and site visits, while managing a robust sales pipeline in the CRM system to track opportunities, forecast revenue, and exceed quarterly KPIs.
- • You will actively represent Evotec at industry trade shows, conferences, and client events, staying abreast of CRO industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory shifts to provide actionable feedback to internal teams.
- • You will nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers in biotech and pharma organizations, identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities to increase customer lifetime value and drive repeat business.
- • You will work with the VP of Sales to execute the commercial strategy for the East Coast territory, ensuring alignment with corporate goals while maintaining autonomy in territory planning and execution.
- • You will maintain accurate, up-to-date pipeline data in the CRM system, enabling reliable forecasting and informed decision-making across sales, operations, and leadership.
- • You will develop deep expertise in the discovery and pre-clinical development lifecycle, enabling you to speak credibly with scientific stakeholders and translate complex service capabilities into compelling business value propositions.
- • You will cultivate resilience, self-motivation, and disciplined time management to thrive in a remote, high-autonomy role while consistently delivering results against aggressive sales targets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field.
- • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably within a CRO, CDMO, biotech service provider, or pre-clinical research environment.
- • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in complex, technical sales cycles.
- • Broad understanding of the drug discovery and pre-clinical development process, including key stages, timelines, and client pain points.
- • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with ability to engage scientific and executive audiences.
- • Willingness to travel extensively (40%+), including client site visits, conferences, and territory coverage.
