📋 Description
- • As the Director of Commercial Finance at Onemagnify Inc., you will be instrumental in building and governing a robust, forward-looking commercial finance function. Your primary mission will be to safeguard company margins, enforce rigorous pricing guardrails, and ensure the utmost integrity of revenue forecasts across the entire enterprise. This pivotal role serves as the principal financial partner to General Managers and Business Unit leaders, driving a strategic shift from reactive reporting to proactive margin governance and financial stewardship.
- • You will take ownership of revenue pipeline validation, meticulously scrutinizing conversion assumptions to ensure accuracy and reliability. A key aspect of your role will involve partnering closely with Sales and General Managers, actively challenging forecast inputs and ensuring that all forecast assumptions are not only documented but also defensible and systematically driven. This collaborative approach will ensure that the revenue forecast is tightly integrated with margin analysis and liquidity sensitivity, providing a holistic financial picture.
- • A core responsibility will be establishing and rigorously enforcing contribution margin thresholds. You will conduct thorough reviews of significant deals before contract finalization to proactively prevent any erosion of margins. This includes codifying pricing exception processes, defining clear documentation standards, and actively identifying patterns of margin leakage to drive swift and effective corrective actions. Your vigilance will be crucial in protecting the company's profitability.
- • In your capacity as the Commercial Referee, you will act as a critical financial challenger within all commercial discussions. You will be responsible for identifying and elevating any structural risks related to pricing strategies, discounting practices, or cost structures. When material issues arise, you will ensure they are escalated promptly through the defined governance ladder, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- • Fostering cross-functional alignment will be paramount. You will partner closely with the Pricing, FP&A, and Accounting teams to guarantee seamless alignment between booked revenue, the sales pipeline, and revenue recognition processes. A significant part of your mandate will be to drive the standardization of commercial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring consistent measurement and reporting across the organization.
- • Success in this role within the first 12 months will be measured by a material reduction in revenue forecast volatility, the identification and mitigation of margin erosion before contract execution, and the successful codification and consistent application of formal pricing guardrails. You will eliminate the need for manual pipeline stitching in Excel, and General Managers will proactively engage Commercial Finance early in deal structuring. This is fundamentally a governance and influence role, not a traditional reporting function, demanding strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills to drive impactful change and financial discipline across the business.
