📋 Description
- • Lead all group-wide litigation and employment matters, including employee and contractor negotiations, disputes, unfair dismissal claims, workplace investigations, and termination processes.
- • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the Global People & Talent team on employment policies, compensation, benefits, employee relations, conflict of interest, and workforce compliance.
- • Manage and oversee litigious employment matters in the U.S., including directing external counsel, developing litigation strategy, and minimizing legal risk through pragmatic solutions.
- • Develop, maintain, and standardize employment contract templates, employer of record (EOR) agreements, and operating procedures for the Global People & Talent team.
- • Partner with the Data & Privacy team to ensure HR data handling practices comply with applicable data protection laws and internal Group policies.
- • Orchestrate and oversee Employee Equity Programs in coordination with the Company Secretary and internal whistleblowing platform and policy.
- • Provide legal counsel to other Legal Specialist areas including Product and Data teams on employment-related legal implications.
- • Advise on employment law issues across multiple jurisdictions, adapting guidance to unfamiliar legal environments while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
- • Build and lead a team of legal professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and high-performance standards within the Legal, Risk & Compliance function.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Operations to align employment practices with business objectives and global scalability.
- • Ensure all employment-related processes are documented, auditable, and aligned with Airwallex’s operating principles and global compliance standards.
- • Proactively identify emerging legal risks in employment law and implement preventive measures to safeguard the organization.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of U.S. employment law and remain current on regulatory changes affecting multinational employers.
- • Deliver clear, actionable, and business-oriented legal advice to non-legal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- • Manage external counsel in a cost-efficient and organized manner, ensuring alignment with business priorities and budget constraints.
