Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Director of IT & Corporate Security at Scribd, Inc., you will lead the technology experience for employees while ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise systems, serving as a strategic enabler of productivity and thoughtful risk management in alignment with the company’s mission to advance human understanding.
- • You will partner with executive leadership to define an IT roadmap aligned with business priorities, lead the evaluation and responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools, and advocate for IT as a visible, cross-functional leader who translates business needs into scalable solutions.
- • You will lead and coach a small IT team delivering Tier 1–3 support, define and track service metrics (e.g., time to resolution, CSAT, SLA adherence), own intake and escalation processes, and drive recurring-issue elimination through automation and improved workflows rather than just faster ticket closure.
- • You will own identity and access lifecycle processes using least-privilege and role-based access principles, administer core systems like Okta, Google Workspace, and Slack, and ensure business-critical platforms such as NetSuite and Zendesk are reliably and securely operated with auditability and data integrity.
- • You will manage the end-to-end device lifecycle (procurement, provisioning, onboarding, repairs, refreshes, offboarding, secure disposal) using Kandji for macOS fleet compliance, oversee office technology reliability (WiFi, networking, conference rooms/AV), and ensure new hires have a secure, productive setup on day one.
- • You will implement endpoint and access controls in partnership with Security, support incident response, contribute to SOC 2/ISO audits through documentation and access reviews, build operational readiness playbooks for system outages, and serve on the company’s risk committee to align IT systems with broader risk posture.
- • You will manage vendor relationships, own the IT budget, lead key initiatives end-to-end with predictable delivery and measurable results, and identify automation opportunities in provisioning, access workflows, and device lifecycle to reduce operational load over time.
- • You will bring a player-coach mindset—comfortable stepping in when needed while building scalable systems that reduce toil—and demonstrate strong communication skills to explain technical decisions in business terms, stay calm under pressure, and partner effectively with senior leaders.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8–10+ years of experience in Corporate IT or Digital Workplace roles, including proven experience leading IT teams and delivering measurable results in IT support and service delivery.
- • Hands-on experience managing identity and access using Okta or similar tools, administering Google Workspace for security and daily employee needs, and managing macOS devices via Kandji or a comparable MDM platform.
- • Experience partnering with Security on endpoint protection, audits, and compliance readiness (SOC 2/ISO/PCI/SOX), managing IT vendors and budgets with accountability for outcomes, and supporting employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding with thoughtful access controls.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Scribd Flex: a flexible work model allowing employees to choose their workstyle and location while committing to intentional in-person moments that strengthen collaboration and culture.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, plus mental health support, disability coverage, and generous paid time off including vacation, sick time, holidays, winter break, volunteer time, and sabbaticals.
- • Paid parental leave, family support benefits, retirement matching, employee equity ownership, learning and development programs, wellness and home office stipends, and complimentary access to Scribd’s suite of products and enterprise AI tools.
