  • • As a Director in Management Consulting at KPMG New Zealand, you will lead high-impact consulting engagements that drive strategic transformation for clients across industries, leveraging KPMG’s global expertise to solve complex business challenges and deliver measurable value.
  • • You will be responsible for shaping and executing consulting strategies, managing large-scale projects, and mentoring junior consultants, ensuring alignment with KPMG’s purpose of inspiring confidence and empowering change for clients, people, and communities.
  • • Day to day, you will lead client-facing workshops and executive briefings to identify business challenges and opportunities, translating insights into actionable roadmaps for operational improvement, digital transformation, and growth strategy.
  • • You will design and oversee the delivery of tailored consulting solutions, including operating model redesign, process optimization, and change management initiatives, ensuring adherence to KPMG’s quality standards and methodologies.
  • • You will manage end-to-end project lifecycles—from scoping and proposal development to execution and post-implementation review—while maintaining rigorous financial oversight, timeline adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • • You will build and nurture long-term relationships with C-suite and senior leadership clients, positioning KPMG as a trusted advisor through thought leadership, proactive communication, and consistent delivery of high-value outcomes.
  • • You will coach, develop, and performance-manage a team of consultants and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, inclusivity, and professional growth through regular feedback, mentoring, and career development planning.
  • • You will contribute to KPMG’s internal knowledge capital by codifying best practices, developing proprietary frameworks, and participating in thought leadership initiatives such as white papers, webinars, and industry forums.
  • • You will collaborate across KPMG’s global network—including Audit, Tax, and Advisory practices—to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions that address clients’ most pressing and interconnected challenges.
  • • You will represent KPMG in business development activities, including pitching for new work, responding to RFPs, and expanding existing client accounts through cross-selling and upselling strategic consulting services.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience as a senior consultant or manager in management consulting, strategy, or advisory roles, with a track record of leading complex, high-value projects for large organizations.
  • • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at the executive level, including C-suite and board members, with a history of winning and expanding strategic accounts.
  • • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with expertise in structuring ambiguous business issues, developing data-driven insights, and presenting compelling narratives to diverse audiences.
  • • Experience in leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including performance management, coaching, and fostering inclusive, high-performing team cultures.
  • • Familiarity with KPMG’s methodologies or equivalent consulting frameworks (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain), particularly in areas such as operating model design, digital transformation, or change management.
  • • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred, preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
