- • Lead a large team of expert-level certified coders, mentoring them to serve as auditors and resolve complex cases that require clinical judgment beyond AI capabilities
- • Partner directly with enterprise customers in home health and hospice, acting as their trusted coding-quality advisor to improve compliance, accuracy, and audit-readiness

- • Translate CMS guidance and ICD-10-CM update cycles into actionable workflow rules and AI model behavior to maintain regulatory compliance
- • Set, track, and report on coding KPIs including accuracy rates, turnaround time, and productivity for both internal teams and customer-facing reviews

- • Serve as the primary coding subject-matter expert for customers, clinical leadership, and internal teams, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of coding standards
- • Maintain unparalleled standards of coding quality and compliance across tens of thousands of clinicians and over a million patient visits annually
- • Act as the voice of the coder within the product development process, influencing how AI surfaces clinical insights and where human validation is required
- • Continuously evaluate and refine coding workflows to maximize efficiency without compromising compliance or clinical integrity
- • Build and scale coding quality programs that drive measurable gains in accuracy across multi-agency enterprise networks
- • Stay ahead of evolving home health and hospice regulatory requirements and proactively adapt internal processes to maintain audit-readiness
- • Provide strategic guidance to enterprise clients on aligning their coding practices with federal reimbursement models and compliance expectations
- • Ensure all coding operations support Nestmed’s mission to restore clinician time by delivering precise, compliant, and AI-augmented documentation
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in medical coding with 3+ years in a leadership or management role; home health and/or hospice experience required
- • Active credential: HCS-D, HCS-H, BCHH-C, CCS, CPC, COC, or CDIP
- • Deep expertise in PDGM and hospice coding, with fluent command of ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines and OASIS coding implications
- • Track record of leading large coding teams and building or running coding quality programs that improve accuracy at scale
- • Experience advising enterprise clients with the credibility and communication skills to earn trust from senior leaders at large agencies
- • Comfort in a fast-moving, tech-first environment and genuine enthusiasm for reshaping coding around AI rather than defending the status quo

- • Remote work with full U.S. coverage
- • Opportunity to shape the future of healthcare documentation with AI at a company backed by PayPal and Plaid founders
- • Direct impact on tens of thousands of clinicians and over a million patient visits annually
