Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • The Director of Finance (South Africa) serves as the analytical engine behind CFO decisions, owning FP&A execution, financial modeling, and KPI infrastructure to enable fractional CFOs to focus on strategic planning across a portfolio of high-growth consumer and retail brands.
- • Day to day, the role involves building and maintaining dynamic three-statement financial models, rolling forecasts, and budgets; developing KPI dashboards and board-ready materials; conducting margin and unit economics analysis; supporting fundraising and M&A activities; preparing materials for investor calls and strategic sessions; and stepping into client meetings independently to engage with cross-functional leaders on commercial decisions.
- • The company, CAS, operates as a career-focused professional services firm (not a gig platform) that partners senior finance professionals with U.S.-based clients, emphasizing quality, security, and structured collaboration through pod-based delivery models and predictable review cycles.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in consumer business financial modeling, gain exposure to multi-client portfolio management, develop systems thinking for workflow automation, and build credibility as a trusted advisor to founders and operators — positioning themselves for long-term impact in strategic finance leadership.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance
- • Advanced financial modeling skills: multi-year three-statement models, DCF, LBO, scenario analysis, and sensitivity tables
- • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (accrual vs. cash, revenue recognition, COGS, inventory accounting) and experience with platforms like QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Xero
- • Ability to synthesize complex financial data into executive-ready insights and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, including founders and functional leaders
- • Prior experience in a multi-client or portfolio support role (fractional, consulting, PE operating, or multi-entity environment)
- • Deep understanding of consumer business models — DTC, retail, omnichannel, wholesale
🏖️ Benefits
- • Career-level USD compensation based on experience and scope, with senior-level positioning and guaranteed annual increases
- • Permanent remote work (100% remote from South Africa) with full company equipment provided (laptop, monitor, accessories)
- • 15 days PTO annually plus local holidays off, monthly flexible stipend (CAS Flex Perks), and referral rewards up to $1,000
- • Structured onboarding, ongoing support, and a culture that emphasizes quality, security (MFA, least-privilege access), and collaboration via Slack/Zoom/Teams
