- • As Director of Fraud at Monzo, you will lead the Fraud & Disputes Risk team and serve on the wider Fraud & Disputes Group Leadership Team, playing a critical role in protecting customers and maintaining trust in Monzo’s financial ecosystem.
- • Day to day, you will build strong relationships with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to design and embed effective fraud controls, lead strategy development using emerging technologies, and foster a positive, high-performing culture across the fraud group while staying ahead of evolving fraud trends.
- • Monzo is a mission-driven UK-based fintech known for its coral cards, early pay feature, and award-winning customer service, offering personal, business, joint, youth, and kids accounts, credit cards, savings, investments, and pension services, all aimed at making money work for everyone through innovation and inclusion.
- • In this role, you will achieve impact by scaling fraud prevention strategies, influencing senior stakeholders, developing high-performing teams through coaching and feedback, and using data-driven decision-making to protect customers and support Monzo’s growth with integrity and safety.
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience leading highly-effective risk teams in a regulated, fast-paced environment
- • Deep knowledge of fraud regulations in the UK and EU
- • Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to balance product-led innovation with fraud risk expertise
- • Proven ability to prioritise and develop innovative fraud management strategies using latest technology to scale implementation
- • Skill in quickly understanding, articulating, and responding to emerging fraud trends and risks
- • Ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders confidently and in alignment with Monzo’s values
- • Track record as a great manager and coach developing high-performing teams through continuous feedback and tangible impact
- • Data-driven mindset with ability to self-serve and use technology to solve problems and identify opportunities
