  • • Lead the design and execution of Observable Space’s end-to-end talent acquisition strategy to support rapid growth across engineering, manufacturing, operations, software, and executive leadership functions.
  • • Serve as the first dedicated recruiting leader, building the recruiting function from the ground up with scalable processes, systems, and metrics.
  • • Personally manage full-cycle recruitment for critical technical and leadership roles, including sourcing passive candidates through proactive and creative methods.
  • • Partner directly with executive leadership and hiring managers to forecast hiring needs, define role requirements, and align recruitment efforts with business objectives.
  • • Develop and implement standardized interview frameworks, scorecards, and hiring best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality candidate evaluations.
  • • Optimize and manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting technology stack to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • • Create recruiting dashboards and performance metrics to track KPIs, drive accountability, and inform leadership decisions.
  • • Build and strengthen Observable Space’s employer brand within aerospace, optics, software, and advanced manufacturing talent communities.
  • • Develop and execute talent marketing initiatives to increase awareness of the company’s mission, culture, and growth opportunities among target candidate pools.
  • • Establish relationships with universities, industry organizations, and professional networks to expand access to top-tier talent.
  • • Hire, mentor, and develop future recruiters, coordinators, and recruiting operations staff as the team scales.
  • • Design and deliver hiring manager training programs to improve interview calibration, candidate experience, and hiring consistency.
  • • Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the entire hiring journey, from initial outreach to offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • • Oversee offer negotiations and closing strategies for key hires, ensuring competitive and timely placements.
  • • Maintain a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Los Angeles office to foster collaboration and team culture.
  • • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all recruitment practices and contribute to an inclusive workplace where all voices are valued.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of recruiting experience with at least 3 years leading recruiting teams or functions
  • • Experience recruiting for highly technical roles including engineering, software, aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries
  • • Demonstrated success building recruiting programs, processes, or teams from the ground up
  • • Strong sourcing, interviewing, and candidate assessment skills
  • • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership
  • • Data-driven approach to recruiting with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
