- • Director of Revenue Accounting at Hopper Inc., a high-ownership individual contributor role reporting to the Global Corporate Controller, responsible for building and owning the end-to-end revenue recognition and partner economics function from the ground up.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and automating invoicing and revenue accounting cycles in NetSuite, liaising with data warehouse teams to ensure accurate data flows, owning the full invoicing cycle across partner arrangements, interpreting complex deal structures under ASC 606, maintaining AR subledger and month-end close, using advanced SQL for data validation, reading commercial contracts for accounting implications, serving as primary Finance contact for external partners, overseeing collections, and establishing internal controls for audit support.
- • Hopper is a well-funded, pre-IPO travel technology company powering a global travel platform and B2B fintech solutions through Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), serving hundreds of millions of travelers and partnering with major brands like Capital One, Air Canada, and Nubank.
- • The role offers the opportunity to build scalable financial infrastructure, deepen expertise in ASC 606 and technical accounting, drive automation in NetSuite, influence cross-functional deal structuring, and make a high-impact contribution to a fast-growing fintech and travel commerce platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • CPA designation required
- • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including revenue recognition and partner or customer billing
- • Advanced SQL skills to independently pull and reconcile large transaction datasets
- • Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and experience drafting technical accounting memos
- • Ability to read and interpret commercial contracts and identify accounting implications
- • Experience owning collections and managing external partner relationships
- • Preferred: NetSuite AR, billing, and automation experience
- • Preferred: Background at a high-growth technology or marketplace company
