📋 Description
- • As Director of Sales – Composites & Carbon Fiber (Americas) at Mitsubishi Chemical Group Corporation, you will lead commercial strategy and execution across North and South America to accelerate revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer partnerships in high-value industries such as aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. This role is pivotal in shaping how the company grows by translating technical market opportunities into scalable commercial success through strategic leadership and cross-functional influence.
- • You will develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with business goals and market dynamics, leveraging market intelligence, segmentation, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities. This includes translating strategy into clear targets, quotas, and execution plans while owning forecasting, pipeline health, and opportunity management to ensure consistent performance tracking and course correction.
- • You will build, coach, and develop a high-performing Americas sales team by fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. This involves establishing and enforcing best-in-class sales excellence practices such as CRM discipline, key account management, and strategic selling to elevate team effectiveness and drive consistent results.
- • You will drive financial performance by partnering with Product Management and Finance to align on profitability, pricing, and margin optimization, ensuring strong deal governance, contract discipline, and commercial compliance while delivering on revenue, margin, and working capital targets through disciplined execution and strategic deal structuring.
- • You will enable operational excellence by leading accurate sales forecasting and demand planning and collaborating in S&OP processes to balance customer demand, production capacity, and profitability, ensuring alignment between commercial ambitions and operational capabilities across the supply chain.
- • You will shape market and business strategy by monitoring and interpreting market trends, macroeconomics, and customer behaviors, providing insights to inform annual planning and long-term strategy, and acting as a key voice in regional and global market intelligence efforts to position the company ahead of industry shifts.
- • You will ensure risk and compliance by maintaining adherence to export regulations, credit risk policies, and contractual obligations, and ensuring disciplined execution of commercial agreements and customer commitments to protect the organization from legal, financial, and reputational exposure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of progressive commercial and sales experience in carbon fiber, composites, or advanced materials
- • Proven experience leading sales teams across the Americas
- • Strong understanding of composite applications, manufacturing processes, and target markets such as aerospace, defense, industrials, or sports & leisure
- • Track record of delivering profitable growth and market expansion
- • Experience building and scaling high-performing sales teams
- • Strong capability in strategic selling, negotiation, and executive influence
- • Knowledge of materials such as prepregs, thermoplastics, specialty resins, and high-strength fibers
- • Familiarity with trends like lightweighting, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing
- • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Science, or Business preferred); advanced degree is a plus
- • Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international)
- • Ability to thrive in a global, matrixed environment

- • Base Salary Range: $206,955 – $236,520 (plus geographic adjustment where applicable)
