📋 Description

• As the Founding Director of Strategic Finance at BrainCo Inc., you will be the company’s first dedicated finance hire, responsible for building the finance function from the ground up and providing the financial operating picture needed to scale a high-growth AI startup serving governments, healthcare systems, and critical industries.
• You will own the company-wide operating model, including revenue forecasting, headcount planning, expense budgets, and scenario analysis, while building and running the FP&A cadence with annual planning, quarterly reforecasts, and monthly variance reviews.
• You will join a team of 70+ AI experts from Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks, backed by $55M in Series A funding and led by founders with deep Silicon Valley credentials, working to apply frontier AI to real-world institutional challenges.
• You will develop deep expertise in AI-native business models, unit economics for enterprise AI deployments, and complex government and healthcare contract structures, while shaping financial systems, processes, and reporting that will scale with the company’s growth and prepare it for future fundraising and board-level scrutiny.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in finance with deep FP&A or strategic finance experience, including building operating models used by founders, executives, and boards
• Experience as an early or first finance hire in a high-growth startup, with ability to build financial infrastructure from scratch
• Fluency in SaaS and enterprise metrics (ARR, NDR, gross margin, burn multiple) and ability to adapt them to AI-native, nontraditional revenue models
• Understanding of complex enterprise and government contract structures, including milestone-based billing, multi-year agreements, and revenue recognition implications
• Hands-on proficiency with financial modeling at the spreadsheet level, combined with the ability to design and implement future financial systems and tooling
• Strong communication skills to convey financial insights clearly to founders, board members, and non-finance leaders with urgency and ownership
