📋 Description

• The Director of Strategy and Business Operations at HousingAnywhere B.V. is a pivotal leadership role responsible for transforming strategic vision into operational reality across Europe’s largest student rental platform, ensuring alignment, execution, and accountability to drive sustainable growth and mission impact.
• This role acts as a force multiplier for the CEO and leadership team by owning the operating cadence, structuring decision-making frameworks, and enabling data-driven leadership through rigorous performance tracking and cross-functional initiative management.
• Day to day, the Director will drive execution of key strategic initiatives by defining clear ownership, scope, milestones, and success metrics; removing cross-functional bottlenecks; and serving as the central coordination point between product, operations, supply, and marketing teams to ensure initiatives progress on schedule and deliver intended outcomes.
• They will own and structure the company’s operating cadence (WBR/MBR/QBR), defining review metrics and formats, aligning teams to deliver high-quality outcomes, and driving accountability on performance gaps through consistent, insight-led business reviews.
• The Director will develop and maintain the company’s driver trees, design and refine performance dashboards, identify early signals in marketplace performance (conversion, supply liquidity, booking trends), and partner with functional leaders to diagnose root causes and recommend corrective actions that inform resource allocation and strategic pivots.
• As the central program lead for business integration across HousingAnywhere’s portfolio (including Kamernet and Studapart), they will align operating processes, ensure consistency in product, commercial, and operating models, track integration milestones, and facilitate seamless cross-functional collaboration to unlock synergies and maintain organizational alignment.
• They will act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO and leadership team by structuring decision-making frameworks, preparing key strategic analyses (including scenario planning and trade-off evaluations), and ensuring clarity on priorities and resource trade-offs to support confident, timely leadership decisions.

• In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in scaling marketplace businesses, mastering the integration of multi-brand operations, and refining strategic execution systems — positioning them for future leadership roles in strategy, operations, or general management within high-impact tech scale-ups.

🎯 Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or high-growth tech companies, with a proven ability to navigate complex, ambiguous environments and deliver results.
• Proven track record in driving cross-functional initiatives from conception to execution, including defining scope, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and measuring impact.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to translate ambiguous strategic goals into clear operational plans, metrics, and accountability mechanisms.
• Experience in marketplaces, platforms, or scale-ups is a plus, particularly understanding dynamics of supply-demand balance, network effects, and unit economics in two-sided platforms.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority, build trust across functions, and act as a credible thought partner to senior leadership.
• A pragmatic problem solver with a strong bias toward action and execution — comfortable making decisions with incomplete data, iterating quickly, and prioritizing impact over perfection.
