  • • Lead client engagements in operational and technical accounting for private equity-backed portfolio companies, focusing on financial reporting, accounting policy design, and process improvement.
  • • Prepare financial statements in connection with acquisitions, carve-outs, proposed sales, restatements, and other complex transactions.
  • • Design and implement new accounting policies and procedures aligned with US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease accounting, and purchase accounting.
  • • Assess and enhance the financial close process to accelerate monthly and quarterly reporting cycles while improving accuracy and efficiency.
  • • Establish, document, and remediate financial and operational internal controls to meet regulatory and sponsor expectations.
  • • Oversee the implementation of ERP and financial systems, ensuring seamless integration with accounting workflows and reporting requirements.
  • • Advise on finance and accounting organizational structure design, particularly in the context of carve-outs or merger-related transitions.
  • • Support audit preparation by coordinating documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • • Serve as the primary firm representative during client engagements, managing relationships with CFOs and finance teams at portfolio companies.
  • • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, participating in proposals, and supporting client acquisition efforts.
  • • Sponsor and lead internal initiatives to improve firm capabilities, methodologies, and knowledge sharing within the Operational & Technical Accounting practice.
  • • Travel to client sites as required to deliver on-site consulting services and support implementation efforts.
  • • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing client dynamics, internal team coordination, and deliverable deadlines.
  • • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the practice.
  • • Apply deep technical accounting expertise to solve complex financial reporting challenges in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
  • • Leverage strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to develop client-ready deliverables, including financial models, presentations, and disclosure drafts.
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving accounting standards and private equity industry trends to provide forward-looking advisory insights.
  • • Operate with entrepreneurial initiative in a flat, high-growth organization, taking ownership of outcomes while contributing to firm-wide growth.
  • • Balance hands-on execution with strategic oversight, ensuring both detailed accuracy and big-picture alignment with client value creation goals.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant professional experience in client-serving roles at a top-tier public accounting or financial advisory firm, or equivalent private industry experience at the Controller level
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred
  • • Deep, current knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, lease accounting, and purchase accounting
  • • Proven experience preparing financial statements and drafting footnote disclosures, particularly in carve-outs and restatements
  • • Experience implementing and managing financial system implementations and internal control reviews
  • • Demonstrated experience working with private equity clients and understanding of PE-backed portfolio company dynamics
