📋 Description

• • Lead all aspects of revenue accounting for a rapidly growing healthcare company, including month-end close, analysis, reporting, controls, and technical accounting under ASC 606.
• • Oversee contract reviews to assess and determine revenue recognition implications across diverse payer and patient-facing agreements.
• • Manage and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• • Partner closely with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.
• • Drive continuous improvement in revenue accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to support scalability and operational excellence as the company grows.
• • Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and reviews, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses to auditor inquiries.
• • Take ownership of the revenue reporting process, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements within the first 90 days.
• • Become a subject matter expert in Virta’s business model, revenue streams, and contractual structures to inform accurate financial reporting.
• • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders to align revenue accounting practices with business operations.
• • Support ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as needed by the broader Accounting team.
• • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA protocols when handling sensitive patient information, following all company security and privacy procedures.
• • Operate effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment with collaboration across multiple time zones and functions.
• • Contribute to a values-driven culture that prioritizes people, transparency, evidence-based decision-making, and empowerment over hierarchy.
• • Maintain awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements specific to healthcare revenue recognition and patient data handling.
• • Apply technical accounting expertise to complex revenue scenarios arising from virtual care delivery, health plan partnerships, and employer-sponsored programs.
• • Implement scalable accounting systems and controls that accommodate rapid growth and evolving business models in the digital health space.
• • Participate in the development and refinement of internal policies related to revenue recognition, contract interpretation, and financial reporting.
• • Ensure all revenue accounting activities align with public company reporting standards and support external financial disclosures.
