đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Director of Revenue Cycle Operations at R1 RCM Inc., you will be at the forefront of transforming the financial health of hospitals, health systems, and medical groups. This pivotal role focuses on managing specific segments of the revenue cycle, offering a unique opportunity to specialize and excel within a defined operational lane rather than overseeing the entire end-to-end process. You will be responsible for a defined portion of accounts receivable (AR), such as a specific payer group, a category of denials, a particular billing workflow, or a collections queue. Your success will be measured by your ability to drive performance, maintain quality, and achieve critical outcomes within your assigned scope, all while ensuring seamless integration with adjacent operational teams to support the overarching financial objectives of our diverse client portfolio.
  • • This position demands exceptional leadership, requiring you to manage and inspire large teams, potentially up to 100 full-time employees (FTEs), who are delivering modular Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services. You will oversee operations across both professional billing (PB) and hospital/facility billing (HB) environments, demonstrating versatility and a deep understanding of different billing landscapes. A key aspect of your role will be to make dynamic, real-time staffing and capacity decisions, adapting swiftly to fluctuating inventory levels, diverse payer mixes, and evolving workflow demands. This requires a proactive and data-driven approach to resource allocation, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • • You will serve as the primary operational representative for your assigned scope, maintaining a strong and consistent client-facing presence. This involves managing routine client interactions independently, building trust and rapport, and effectively communicating operational performance, challenges, and solutions. Your visibility to clients will be high, and your ability to execute with precision in a fast-moving, variable inventory environment will be paramount. You are expected to handle operational discussions with clients without the need for constant escalation to senior leadership, showcasing your autonomy and expertise.
  • • Collaboration is central to this role. You will partner closely with peer Directors and other operational leaders to ensure seamless coordination and communication across all revenue cycle workflows. This cross-functional teamwork is essential for maintaining the integrity of the RCM process and achieving collective success. By working together, you will identify and implement best practices, share insights, and collectively address complex challenges.
  • • Performance monitoring and continuous improvement are core responsibilities. You will meticulously track productivity, quality metrics, compliance adherence, and financial performance using a combination of operational data and work queue reporting. This involves a hands-on leadership approach, where you engage directly with the data, workflows, and queues, rather than managing solely through high-level reports. This deep dive into operational details allows for timely identification of issues and the implementation of targeted solutions.
  • • Maintaining strict compliance with all payer, regulatory, and client-specific requirements across all managed workflows is non-negotiable. You will ensure that all operations adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and legality, safeguarding both the company and our clients.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve leading, coaching, and developing front-line leaders and managers within a fully remote, distributed environment. This requires exceptional communication, motivational, and mentorship skills to foster a high-performing team culture despite geographical distances. You will empower your team members, provide constructive feedback, and support their professional growth, ensuring a motivated and effective workforce.
  • • Ultimately, this role is for a people leader who thrives within a defined operational scope, possesses a clear understanding of how their specific contributions impact broader revenue cycle outcomes, and excels in a multi-client, modular delivery model. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, enhancing client satisfaction, and contributing significantly to R1 RCM's mission of transforming the patient financial experience.
