  • • As Director, Shipboard HR & Crew Management at Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc., you will lead the human resources strategy and operations for the company’s global fleet of 20 expedition ships, ensuring seamless crew management, compliance, and welfare across international waters and diverse maritime environments.
  • • You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, labor relations, and compliance for shipboard personnel, including deck, engine, hotel, and expedition staff, while partnering with shoreside teams to align crew operations with company values and guest experience goals.
  • • You will join a mission-driven organization at the forefront of expedition travel, renowned for its pioneering legacy in polar and remote region exploration, its partnership with National Geographic, and its commitment to sustainable, educational travel that inspires stewardship of the planet.
  • • In this role, you will develop and implement scalable HR systems for a globally dispersed workforce, gain deep expertise in maritime labor regulations and international crew management, and lead initiatives that enhance crew retention, safety, and cultural cohesion across a dynamic, multicultural fleet.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred
  • • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with proven expertise in managing large, geographically dispersed workforces, preferably in hospitality, maritime, cruise, or expedition industries
  • • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex international labor laws, maritime regulations (including STCW, MLC, and flag state requirements), and cross-cultural workforce dynamics
