- • Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to senior business leaders, translating business strategy into actionable talent plans that align with organizational objectives.
- • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to VP-level and above leaders on complex talent, performance, and organizational issues.
- • Drive excellence in talent management across the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring HR programs reflect business needs and employee feedback.
- • Partner with Talent Acquisition to design and execute targeted recruitment strategies for senior leadership roles, ensuring alignment with business growth priorities.
- • Lead and oversee the performance management and talent review processes, ensuring development plans are created and implemented to support employee growth and succession planning.
- • Guide managers in defining functional competencies and performance expectations for critical roles within their teams.
- • Coach and develop managers to enhance their effectiveness as people leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- • Collaborate with the SVP, Talent Strategy Partner to develop workforce planning strategies that forecast near- and long-term hiring and skill development needs.
- • Implement organizational change initiatives, including re-designs and M&A integration efforts, ensuring cultural alignment and process adoption.
- • Partner with the Inclusion & Diversity lead to advance the execution of programs that promote equity, belonging, and representation across the organization.
- • Lead high-priority talent projects such as compensation reviews, proactive retention strategies, and leadership development initiatives.
- • Leverage data and business insights to identify talent trends, anticipate workforce implications, and present actionable recommendations to influence leadership decisions.
- • Communicate project outcomes, key findings, and HR metrics effectively to HR teams, business leaders, and employees to drive transparency and alignment.
- • Contribute to the global HR community by sharing best practices, standardizing processes, and collaborating on solutions to complex HR challenges.
- • Promote and model Cengage’s culture and values through leadership behavior, decision-making, and employee engagement initiatives.
- • Travel up to 20% for in-person meetings, leadership offsites, and business unit events as required.
- • Maintain proficiency in core office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support reporting, analysis, and communication needs.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years supporting senior leadership teams
- • Experience developing and implementing talent strategies for high-performance organizations
- • Proven ability to coach executives and lead difficult conversations with strong conflict resolution skills
- • Experience driving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming
- • Ability to use data to generate insights and inform talent decisions
- • Comfort operating in dynamic, complex environments with high ambiguity and change
