- • As a Distributed Systems Software Engineer - Public Cloud at Salesforce, you will play a critical role in innovating and maintaining a large-scale distributed systems platform that delivers hundreds of features daily to tens of millions of users worldwide, ensuring high reliability, speed, security, and preservation of customizations and integrations.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes in multiple data centers; building infrastructure-as-code with Terraform; writing microservices using Kubernetes, Docker, or Mesos; contributing to open-source technologies like Spinnaker and Zookeeper; and integrating AI agents into human workflows to drive efficiency and innovation at scale.
- • You will join Salesforce’s Public Cloud engineering teams, which are responsible for the core infrastructure powering the #1 AI CRM, where ambition meets action and innovation is a way of life. The team fosters a culture of trust, technological excellence, and AI-driven transformation in the agentic era.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure automation, and AI-augmented software development; master advanced prompt engineering and AI tooling (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot); and contribute to building shared system context that enables reliable, secure AI outputs—positioning you at the forefront of AI-integrated enterprise software engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • A related technical degree is required
- • 3+ years of backend software development experience
- • Deep knowledge of programming in Java, GoLang, Python, or Ruby
- • Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service
- • Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts to cultivate system context for reliable, secure, and production-ready AI outputs
- • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor) in development workflows
- • Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development
- • Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications
