- • As a Dzongkha-English Phone Interpreter, you will provide real-time interpretation services to bridge language and cultural barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors including healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency services.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to interpreting sessions, rendering accurate meaning between Dzongkha and English without omissions or additions, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and handling high-stress calls such as 911 or medical emergencies with composure.
- • You will work remotely from a dedicated home office, supported by LanguageLine Solutions’ industry-leading training, Senior Language Specialists, and technical help desks, operating within certified ASTM and ISO standards to ensure quality and compliance.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Dzongkha and English with strong cultural competency and ability to navigate regional accents and dialect variations.
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation, especially in sensitive or technical contexts.
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and calm during emotionally charged or high-stress calls, including end-of-life discussions, emergency situations, and calls involving pregnancy termination or gender identity topics.
- • High school diploma or equivalent; preferred background in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation.
- • Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship requirements; must be at least 18 years of age.
- • Must have a dedicated device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android), high-speed internet (5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, <300ms ping, <30ms jitter), and a quiet, distraction-free workspace.
