  • • Guidehouse Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented E&DL Developer to join our Finance & Accounting Consulting team. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility for candidates located anywhere within the US. The role is critical in providing essential Environmental and Disposal Liabilities (E&DL) audit readiness, remediation, and program support to the Army. Your contributions will directly assist the client in achieving improved audit readiness and enhancing sustainability initiatives.
  • • As an E&DL Developer, you will be instrumental in developing comprehensive Cost-to-Complete (CTC) E&DL estimates across various Army installations. This involves meticulous work with Points of Contact (POCs) to gather and validate the appropriate documentation that underpins the assumptions and calculations within these estimates. You will be expected to manage iterative revisions and respond effectively to comments received during Validation Reviews and Army reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • • A key responsibility will be the precise input of data and documentation, received from POCs, into the Army's E&DL financial system of record. This requires a keen eye for detail and an understanding of financial data management within a government context. You will also be tasked with interpreting a variety of supporting documentation, including feasibility studies, decision documents, and contracts, to ensure all relevant information is captured and utilized appropriately.
  • • Applying fundamental audit principles to the concepts, processes, practices, and procedures of E&DL will be a core function of this role. This involves understanding the regulatory and financial frameworks governing environmental liabilities. Furthermore, you will assist with critical E&DL financial reporting data calls and conduct year-over-year variance analysis, providing insights into financial trends and potential discrepancies.
  • • Your role will extend to assisting with comparative analysis and the justification of fiscal year requirements. This includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of environmental cost estimates, which are vital for budget justifications and various environmental data submissions. Maintaining and updating relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate will ensure consistency and best practices within the team.
  • • This position offers the opportunity to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. You will operate with considerable latitude in developing methodologies and presenting solutions to challenging problems, contributing significantly to project success. Your contributions will be measured against defined deliverables and performance metrics, highlighting your impact on the program.
  • • An essential aspect of the role involves developing a working knowledge of, or already possessing experience with, cost estimating software. This technical proficiency will be crucial for efficient and accurate data management and analysis. The ability to lead work-product development with initiative and accountability, coordinate effectively across different organizations, and coach team members are also vital components of this role, particularly for those with prior experience in professional services or supporting Public Sector clients.
  • • In summary, this role is for an individual who thrives in a remote work environment, possesses a strong understanding of financial management and environmental liabilities, and is eager to contribute to critical government programs. You will be a key player in ensuring the Army maintains robust audit readiness and manages its environmental responsibilities effectively.
