• • This unique opportunity is based in our state-of-the-art Virtual Care Command Center at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. This is not a remote position, but rather an on-site role that offers a dynamic blend of bedside nursing and advanced virtual care responsibilities, providing a hybrid experience to expand your healthcare expertise.
• • As an eAcute Registered Nurse in the Virtual Care Command Center, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient care through advanced technology. You will support bedside RNs by managing tasks that can be performed remotely, thereby alleviating their workload and allowing them to focus on direct patient interaction. This role is designed for nurses who wish to maintain and expand their clinical skills while embracing the future of healthcare delivery.
• • Your responsibilities will include leveraging cutting-edge technology to monitor patient vital signs in real-time, assisting with the admission and discharge processes, and collaborating seamlessly with a multidisciplinary virtual team. This team includes virtual physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and our Early Intervention Team, all working together to provide an extra layer of patient monitoring and support from admission through discharge.
• • This position is ideal for a motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for patient safety and quality care. You will be instrumental in the management of adult and geriatric patients undergoing general medical conditions or surgical procedures. Your expertise will be applied to tasks such as care plan development and maintenance, comprehensive patient education, medication administration and discharge teaching, and effective care coordination.
• • You will also contribute to the professional development of the nursing team by mentoring new nurses and implementing evidence-based care practices. The virtual nurse role involves real-time quality and patient safety surveillance, ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care, even when not physically present at the bedside for every interaction.
• • The eAcute Virtual Med-Surg nurse is expected to maintain a broad and deep understanding of medical care knowledge to effectively manage a diverse patient population.
