  • • The EAP Care Manager 2 role at Health Advocate is a vital mental health position that delivers telephonic and live chat support to employees accessing Employee Assistance Programs, providing immediate, compassionate care during moments of personal or workplace distress. This role directly impacts employee well-being by offering crisis intervention, risk assessment, and referral coordination, helping individuals navigate stress, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and substance use concerns in real time.

  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing an inbound EAP phone and live chat queue, conducting brief clinical assessments and screenings, delivering solution-focused interventions and psychoeducation for common behavioral health concerns, and performing risk assessments for suicidal ideation, violence potential, and substance use risks.
  • • The Care Manager provides crisis intervention and stabilization, including safety planning and connection to urgent resources, explains EAP benefits, and offers individualized recommendations to support members’ goals while ensuring timely follow-up to promote successful engagement with internal or community-based services.
  • • Additional duties involve consulting with HR and managers on workplace performance concerns or crisis situations (within EAP scope and confidentiality boundaries), assisting with Critical Incident Response planning after disruptive workplace events, and maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the electronic case management system in compliance with HIPAA and clinical best practices.
  • • The role requires consistent participation in supervision, team meetings, and case consultations to ensure quality care, collaboration with colleagues for seamless member support, and reliable attendance during scheduled shifts (Monday–Friday, 11:30am–8pm ET), including periodic on-call rotation for after-hours coverage (approximately two weeks per year).
