  • • Own and evolve the U.S. External Expert Engagement ecosystem as the Center of Excellence (COE) for strategy, standards, governance, insight generation, and intelligence-driven execution across therapeutic areas.
  • • Lead a hybrid organization comprising HQ-based National External Expert Engagement roles and field-based Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) teams, ensuring enterprise-level alignment, prioritization, role clarity, and capacity management.
  • • Establish national standards for External Expert segmentation, prioritization, and engagement models, preventing replication of legacy field coverage through centralized roles.
  • • Drive enterprise transformation by scaling and continuously improving operating models to reduce coordination burden and increase strategic focus across commercial, medical, and educational functions.
  • • Own the full External Expert insight lifecycle: capture, synthesis, prioritization, and activation, ensuring insights systematically inform brand strategy, therapeutic area planning, HCP education, congress strategy, lifecycle planning, and launch readiness.
  • • Establish repeatable mechanisms for enterprise-wide dissemination of insights to Marketing Strategy leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • • Serve as Head of the Center of Excellence for External Expert Engagement, developing playbooks, governance frameworks, and training programs to enable consistent, scalable engagement across all therapeutic areas.
  • • Partner with Data, AI, and Commercial Excellence teams to deploy AI-enabled approaches for expert segmentation, signal detection, insight synthesis, and knowledge management.
  • • Identify and implement opportunities to automate or streamline low-value coordination and reporting tasks, particularly within HQ-based roles.
  • • Ensure cohesive planning and execution of External Expert engagement for national and regional congresses, including pre- and post-event engagement, insight capture, and executive readouts.
  • • Build and lead a proactive talent strategy for the hybrid organization, including capability development in strategic, analytic, and influence skills, succession planning, and scalable career pathways for both HQ and field teams.
  • • Influence senior stakeholders and lead through a complex matrix to drive alignment, decisions, and execution across HQ and field teams in a regulated environment.
  • • Apply agile, test-and-learn approaches to lead change, navigate ambiguity, accelerate adoption, and continuously improve ways of working.
  • • Demonstrate strong systems thinking and strategic judgment to make tradeoffs under constraint while maintaining enterprise-wide coherence and compliance.
  • • Deliver fact-based, decision-ready narratives and recommendations to diverse stakeholder groups with exceptional executive communication skills.
  • • Translate innovation into scale by identifying, sourcing, piloting, evaluating, and implementing new approaches, including partnerships with Data/AI teams and external vendors.
  • • Maintain deep knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry with proven experience building and leading enterprise-level Centers of Excellence and scalable operating models across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • • Demonstrate enterprise strategy ownership, including multi-horizon roadmap development and operating model transformation in a regulated environment.
  • • Lead hybrid or distributed organizations with clear governance, decision rights, and capacity management across centralized and field-enabled models.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • • Minimum 5 years of experience in TLL, Account Management, or related roles, and minimum 10 years of team or people leadership experience
  • • Advanced command and knowledge of the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry with proven experience building and leading enterprise Centers of Excellence and scalable operating models across multiple therapeutic areas
  • • Demonstrated enterprise strategy ownership, including multi-horizon roadmap development and operating model transformation in a regulated environment
  • • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading through a complex matrix to drive alignment, decisions, and execution across HQ and field teams
  • • Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid or distributed organizations, including governance, decision rights, and capacity management across centralized and field-enabled models
