  • • Serve as a registered and nationally certified pharmacy technician responsible for developing and delivering education and competency programs for pharmacy personnel under the supervision of the System Pharmacy Education Manager.
  • • Assist in the onboarding, orientation, and training of new pharmacy hires, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and regulatory standards.
  • • Coordinate, facilitate, and promote ongoing education, training, and competency assessments for healthcare professionals across pharmacy operations.
  • • Act as the system lead for training on pharmacy EHR systems, automation tools, and other supporting pharmacy technologies.
  • • Conduct task-specific competency evaluations to verify that pharmacy staff have received and mastered required educational content.
  • • Schedule and organize in-services and educational events as needed to maintain staff proficiency and compliance.
  • • Collaborate with the System Pharmacy Education Manager to design and deliver training that meets safety, quality, regulatory, and professional standards.
  • • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on pharmacy technician education and competency standards across the system.
  • • Assist in developing and maintaining mandatory annual compliance and regulatory training requirements aligned with CHFS, DEA, Kentucky, and Indiana State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • • Travel to various pharmacy sites to deliver in-person education, training sessions, and competency evaluations as required.
  • • Support and deliver curriculum for internal and external Baptist Health-associated pharmacy technician training programs.
  • • Evaluate all aspects of technician education processes, including identifying staff learning needs, designing curricula, and implementing educational programs.
  • • Develop, review, and revise training procedures, teaching records, performance checklists, and orientation competency maps specific to pharmacy staff education.
  • • Act as an active member of pharmacy-related committees to contribute to system-wide improvements and policy development.
  • • Design and coordinate pharmacy performance improvement initiatives focused on enhancing the timely, safe, and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, as well as appropriate drug therapy monitoring.

🎯 Requirements

  • • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • • Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire
  • • Registration with Indiana Board of Pharmacy within six months of hire
  • • National certification as a pharmacy technician
  • • Three to five years of community or hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
  • • One year of professional education experience and thorough knowledge of adult learning principles and theory preferred
