- • Design and develop custom electrical and mechanical test systems to validate the reliability and performance of Shield AI’s V-BAT and X-BAT UAV platforms under real-world and extreme environmental conditions.
- • Automate test procedures using Python scripting to improve efficiency, repeatability, and data accuracy in hardware validation workflows.
- • Create and maintain PCB designs for test fixtures and instrumentation used in environmental and functional testing of power electronics, RF communications, and sensor systems.
- • Execute and oversee Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), and Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) to identify failure modes and improve product robustness.
- • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams to define test requirements, interpret test data, and drive design improvements based on failure analysis.
- • Interface with manufacturing and quality teams to transition test systems from prototype to production, ensuring scalability and consistency in high-volume environments.
- • Document test methodologies, procedures, and results in compliance with defense industry standards and internal quality protocols.
- • Troubleshoot complex electrical and system-level failures during test cycles, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- • Work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment to ensure Shield AI’s autonomous systems meet the highest standards of reliability for military and civilian operations.
- • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, including environmental chambers, power supplies, signal generators, and data acquisition systems, to ensure measurement integrity.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test infrastructure by evaluating new tools, technologies, and methodologies for enhancing hardware validation capabilities.
- • Support field deployment teams by providing test data and diagnostics to resolve field failures and improve system performance in operational environments.
- • Ensure all test activities align with Shield AI’s mission to protect service members and civilians through the development of intelligent, autonomous defense systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- • Experience designing and implementing automated test systems using Python
- • Proficiency in PCB design for test fixtures and instrumentation
- • Hands-on experience with HASS, ESS, and HALT environmental testing methodologies
- • Strong understanding of power electronics and RF communication systems
- • Experience working with military-grade or high-reliability hardware
