📋 Description
- • Develop, articulate, and provide legal advice on the intent and application of federal regulations governing employee health and welfare benefit plans, including the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, Transparency in Coverage rules, No Surprises Act, and MHPAEA.
- • Work directly with the Vice President of Regulatory & Legislative Strategy to implement and direct a nationwide strategy for educating Brown & Brown team members on regulatory and legislative guidance related to employee benefits compliance.
- • Stay current with newly released laws, rules, and regulations affecting health and welfare benefit plans and promptly interpret their implications for internal teams and clients.
- • Respond daily to internal employee and team member inquiries regarding compliance with health and welfare benefit laws, providing accurate, timely, and actionable guidance.
- • Support the Regulatory & Legislative Strategy team by managing and responding to the group’s inbox, ensuring timely delivery of resources and solutions to internal and customer emails.
- • Contribute to the creation of written thought leadership pieces, compliance guides, and educational materials for customers, prospective clients, employer groups, and internal stakeholders.
- • Develop and deliver compliance presentations on complex regulatory topics to internal teams, customers, and employer groups.
- • Lead the research and writing of detailed analyses on intricate aspects of employee benefits regulations, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all outputs.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Population Health & Wellness, Pharmacy, Actuarial, Operations, Communications, and Marketing to align compliance efforts with broader business initiatives.
- • Oversee the selection, management, and strategic alignment of third-party vendor partnerships that support employee health and welfare benefit compliance.
- • Build and maintain systems to develop proficiency among team members and regional/local liaisons through continuous education and resource deployment.
- • Demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative by volunteering for additional projects, managing shifting priorities independently, and proactively identifying areas for improvement in compliance processes.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality, exhibit a growth mindset, and remain open to feedback while handling sensitive regulatory and employee data.
- • Apply strong analytical, critical thinking, and detail-oriented skills to interpret complex legal frameworks and translate them into practical compliance tools and guidance.
- • Exercise creative and organized thinking to solve novel compliance challenges and adapt regulatory interpretations to evolving business needs.
